Ever since the NPP lost the 2012 election, they have been suffering from one obsession or another. First they said they "won" the election but the EC robbed them. So they petitioned the SC to reverse the election result to declare their candidate winner.
The SC rejected their petition but they claimed the SC verdict was influenced by the the Judges being bribed. Some of them even claimed it was through His Royal Highness, the Asantehene that the bribes were given to the judges.
After years of obsession that they won the 2012 election but was robbed, now they seem to be agreeing that they actually lost. But strangely, they are now saying that, they lost because Togolese, Burkinabes, Ivorians and other ECOWAS citizens came and voted in our election.
Assuming this latest assertion by NPP is correct, what I think should rather be NPP's concern is: what is peculiar about them that ECOWAS citizens do not want to vote for them?
The current very expensive biometric voters register came into being mainly as a result of NPP's agitation for a better and more transparent register. Yet, this cannot satisfy the NPP because it could not help them win political power. I'm very sure even if another new register is compiled, they will never be happy about it since this too cannot make them win power. What brings electoral victory is a credible candidate.
The real problem of NPP is that, they have the wrong candidate. Even without a biometric voter's register, Mr John Kufuor of the same NPP won the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections. ECOWAS citizens must have voted for him then because, he was clearly the preferred candidate. Comparing the 2000 & 2004 elections with the 2008 & 2012 elections it clear to see that it was the candidates preferred by the voters who won.
In 2000, John Kufuor received more votes in round 2 than in round 1 to beat Mills.Similarly Kufour received more votes than all NPP parliamentary candidates added together. In 2004, it was the same and this time it was one touch.
In 2008, Akufo Addo received more votes than Mills and needed just a few votes to clear 50%+1 hurdle; but in round 2, Mills who had been far behind in round 1, received more votes in round 2. Clearly, some voters who voted for NPP in round 1 either did not vote or changed their votes in round 2. In 2012, the rejection of Akufo Addo was even clearer. The votes of all NPP parliamentary candidates added together was by far more than what NPP's presidential candidate Akufo Addo got and this was the reason there was no need for round 2.
No matter what register is used or which numbers are accepted for an election, there is the most important need to have a credible candidate to win an election. Just look into NPP as at now and you will see how the bad leadership of Akufo Addo is ruining party. For some strange reasons, Akufo Addo hates his own Chairman and General Secretary and wants to eliminate them even though they have been voted into office. This led to the acid bombing of their Regional Chairman Mahama leading to his untimely death. After much harm has already been done and camps are now irreconcilable, he has found out that he cannot achieve his diabolical parochial interest so he is calling for peace. Until NPP gets rid of their expired candidate called Akufo Addo, their dream for political power will be a mirage.

In 2012,NPP said the Biometric is the most credible system for election.They were also the first to file petition against the results.In short,we can now say the Biometric is very deceptive.The Biometric Verification machines developed technical faults and defeated NPP's point of view.Today,we have all seen that the Biometric Voters Register has no capacity to detect nationalities and ages of people.If the biometric voting system is credible,then how come the so called ecowas register?It has again defeated NPP's point of view.EC was able to delete unqualified names from the Ashanti region Biometric Voters Register early this year.I think the political parties should rather help the EC to delete all the unqualified names from the register.NPP has no tangible reason to call for a new register.The biometric technology has no solution to our problem.After all,NDC is not against a credible register,they agree in principle for the EC to clean the Biometric Voters Register.Therefore,the extreme right wing antics that NPP has adopted is not an effective campaign strategy.Thank you.

The game warden ordered the Nigerian to show his hunting license, and the Nigerian pulled out a valid Ghana hunting license.

The game warden looked at the license, then reached over and picked up one of the ducks, sniffed its butt, and said, “This duck ain’t from Ghana. This is an Ivorian duck. You got a ivorian huntin’ license, boy?” The Nigerian reached into his wallet and produced an Ivorian hunting license.

But the problem is not that simple. I have half-sister (same father but different mother) who lives across the border in Togo. She is married there but comes home to Ghana very often. Is she eligible to vote? I mention this because NPP always focuses on NDC as beneficiary of Togolese coming through Aflao, conveniently ignoring that fact that Ghana is bounded on the east, the west and on the north by different countries but whose nationals share the same ethnicity with their Ghanaian counter-parts. I once worked in the UN with an Ivorian called Armah!!Is NPP suggesting that there are no Ivory Coast Armahs who have registered in Ashanti Region to vote? Clean the register we must but let's first agree on fool-proof criteria for registration.

What Dr. Bawumia and his NPP members have forgotten is that, there are Ghanaians in Togo, who do come to Ghana to register and vote.
If these Ghanaians are on Togolese register, it must be found whether the laws of that country allow that. If it does not, then that is a violation of Togolese, and not that of Ghana

What the Npp is doing is just a cheap talk.You cannot win elections by changing the voters register.NPP can win only by convincing the voters that they can do better to help the people of Ghana than the incumbent government if they are voted in 2016.There are thousands of Ghanaian citizens living permanently in Ivory Coast and Togo so I presume they come home during elections to register in Ghana.Even if they are non-Ghanaians how can we prove that all of them voted for NDC to the detriment of NPP. After all there were NPP officials who were posted to check the identity of all the voters. Wehere were they? Proper check at the pooling stations is more reasonable than just changing the present voting register with the hope to get the majority voting for NPP.This is a wish-bone belief.

The presidency is not for anyone at all but for the one God approves.
