  The truth behind the Cocoa sector can only be found at the farmer level. You add that up and multiply and you see the reasons for the catastrophic situation at COCOBOD. Next, the government and the economy take their hits as revenue and foreign exchange are not coming in as expected.
  
  Fertilizer and Agro Chemicals always seem to arrive late at the farms, farmers never get paid fairly. So who expects the youth to move into Cocoa instead of flooding into the slums of Accra?

  It seems the govt and Cocobod only think about their monthly salaries and nothing else. Putting a medical doctor as CEO of such important industry just to ruin the industry. If we don't implement a strategy to address this concern by farmers and sit down and watch, we should brace our self downward trend in national output..Today we are struggling to buy 700,000 tonnes.. Its shame. ELECTRONIC PAYMENT MUST COME NOW!!!

Our cocoa farmers are crying ..I agree with the introduction of electronic payment if that will at least ensure our farmers receive prompt payment ....
