His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, please there is nothing like indefinite strike. Give the Doctors an ultimatum to return to work. If they refuse to report to work, please sack them all. According to my Oxford English Dictionary, indefinite means: WITHOUT LIMIT; FOREVER; UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Please Mr. President, we cannot and should not allow these doctors ( with no other knowledge except the anatomy of the human body) who are clearly doing the bidding of Nana Akufo Addo and his NPP to hold the entire nation to ransom. PLEASE SACK THEM and ask whoever wants their jobs back to re-apply. That is the only way out of this mess!

What happened when these same experienced doctors, once upon a time, sought pastures green. We had to manage.
There's no language barrel else how do Ewe doctors communicate with Akan patients, English. Cuban doctors have been coming to Ghana for generations.
I was taught in University by a brilliant professor from Benin and though his English was not the best, he made more meaning in his lectures than the Ghanaian ones.
Our definition of 'experience' in Ghana is seriously flawed. Surely a doctor who ignores patients for private jobs is not experienced or better still experienced in robbing the State.
Fear and ignorance is the main reason why our politicians and now public servants are taking us the tax payers for granted.
We don't have to go far. We can try Beninese, Malian, Nigerian doctors under an agency system.
The world is not standing still, so let us learn to push ourselves forward as a nation.
We are losing everyday these doctors don't turn out for work.
The 1st World nations are good at counting lost hrs and would have calculated the money lost everyday, which in turn affects the economy and everyone.
If they get more french benefits, Ghana would have to find money to maintain it and if we carry on like it is, the nation continues to suffer financially and health care in compromised.
It is time the gov't calculates the collateral cost and ask them nicely to return or give them an ultimatum and sack them.

Their president works in Tema General hospital, got bungalow there but recently got another one in a suburb of Kumasi,on January 15 where he was asked to pay 10% of his salary for the bungalow #32 which shows how greedy some of these people are.
You are asking if they are fired who will take care of the patients, now to you,for the past two weeks who has been taking care of the patients, who in his right mind will keep paying workers who are at home not working?
The Cuban doctors understand English, they don't teach them in only Spanish, they all speak basic English and has been coming to work in Ghana over the years which was intensified during the Rawlings regime when the doctors played the fool.Doctors in every country learn some English,Acheampong brought in Romanians before when the doctors played the fool,we cannot continue this way, somebody has to be bold to do something about this nonsense.
It is because they are paying them that is why they continue to strike,if they lose a day's pay the strike cannot go beyond 24 hours.
If we are not in a lawless country these strike will have stopped within a week,I understand there is a law passed in 2003 that strikes cannot go beyond a week but nobody is there to enforce the law,we allow these people to go on strike as long as they want while we continue to pay them, which doesn't happen anywhere.

Right,we are paying them yet they don't want us to know what they are asking for forgeting that the money belongs to the public.
Whenever people go on strike here in the private sector we always know what they are on strike for, what percentage of salary they were asking for but in Ghana they don't want us to know because they know the backlash.
Shama, shame on our leaders who will say the country have no money but will keep paying people who are not working, just look at that UTAG too, they are in the house demanding research allowance when they don't do any research and we are paying them.
We all know that right now there are a lot of professors or people who are qualified to teach in these schools so whether experienced or not if they refuse to work just fire them all,you build experience while working so those without experience can learn to have experience, after all these same universities were closed down for years when we didn't even have private universities as we do today.
Air traffic is one of the most important essential services in the US but what happened when they messed up with Reagan,he fired them all which is some of the reasons why Reagan remains one of the greatest American presidents.
Rawlings ignored their nonsense and even the soft Kufour ignored their nonsense so it doesn't make any difference if Mahama also ignore people who are trying to take advantage of him or his government because they think election is coming,he will not lose election because of these doctors, already the public is angry with them for that outrageous demands, thanks to the bold official who did the right thing to release that nonsense.
We just have to keep educating the public on what these workers are demanding from government and the public will be on our side, people are suffering to survive, some went to school for years without job while some who got it are fooling around making outrageous demands, just fire them all, enough is enough,we are sick and tired of them.

Frank, this is where I totally disagree with your view point. If they are not going to work then what is the difference if they are fired?
See? They are not working but will be paid when they go back to work? Which employer will pay someone that goes on indefinite strike? Which employer will be held hostage with demands (and strike) that amounts to blackmail during negotiations?
It is easy to fire them and make them jobless and professional-less. I will fire them all and take away their licenses which is a privilege and not a right they have. I will then ask them to pay back what they owe the tax payer, apply for their licenses and then apply for their positions if they want or just go to any foreign country, show their certificates and apply for licenses over there. Then they can tell the licensing agency in that country that they were fired for striking as medical doctors and see if they will get license to practice.
I lost respect for them and they lost my support when they went on strike during negotiation not for pay but for condition of service and end of service benefits. That is blackmail.
Mahama should just be bold and fire them; they do not want to work anyways.

Iam really flabbagasted, Ghanaians easily forget history so soon.It must be recalled that the coup de tat that brought Flt Leuftenent Rawlings to power, among other proboems in 1979 was the intransigence of the military regime which was on power at that time refusal to accede to a simple reguest put across by the then medical Doctors for improvement of their service conditions and salaries, and this brought untold hardships to the citenry with the death of several innocents patients amongst them was the father of a friend of mine who was killed by cholera. Many Ghanaians suported the Government and wrote insulting languages against the Doctors in Daily Graphic, the Times and the Evenings News.forgeting that, the Doctors also needed thair fair share of the kitty. It was during this period of time that the Lord God revieled to me that, the Head of state General Kutu Achiampong would be executed and his head be hung on a tree for all Ghanaians to see and serve as a deterrant for Governments to come to,which really happened when he and other head of state, General Akuffo and other generals were faced with firing squad at the Teshie military camp.I sent this message to the Graghic News paper to publish it but they refused to do it for fear of the Governments termination of their appoinments. Government must not be complacent hence they are now in command of the corridor of power and bevalve like the proverbial dead goat and fear nothing, but when the days of accountability comes they should blame no one but, themslves.

Let these doctors go on strike for all we care. After all how many of them could afford their full cost of training one doctor. Today, they call themselves doctors after we the tax payer subsidised their training. Everyone in Ghana must also go on strike, including the security forces in support of these greedy bastards who watch on for helpless souls to die and call themselves doctors. They are not the givers of life its only God who gives and takes life. Even their own life they cannot maintain. If they want them to resign, let them go ahead for they are not Gods! What is the use of having doctors who place money over the life of their patients. I think the problem is with our labour laws. Cos, whereas you have the right to strike, it must not be automatic that those who strike every now and then for days unending must be paid. It is never done in a developed and serious minded state. The doctors can strike for as long as they want, BUT THEY MUST NOT BE PAID. Also, we need to tie the welfare of their patients to the licence they have. This is not democracy, this is madness and unrefined greed! Bastards. Ghana can do without them!!

Dramani Dumsor Dead goat (DDD) Mahama cannot rule Ghana. He surrounds himself with deviants and only talkertives who cannot do anything for themselves and let alone rule. What is the cause of all these hullabaloo. Three things
1. The thievery and greediness being openly exhibited by the children ministers and the other bastards, and the NDC brainless societal deviants
2.0 The clueless government has run down a middle income country into HIPC and had to seek bailout from IMF. Once IMF comes in they dictate to you and become a slave as a president or government to IMF. In effect, because you refuse to use your brains and collapsed you own economy, IMF will take away that small part that remained and you become confused like dead goat now
3.0 There no senior respectable, achievers; honourable in NDC that can be called upon to give them advice. They are all at the same level of mentality, foolish and repeating the thing over and over again on different radio stations. In fact the same thing that cannot work. Where is the ignorant parliament in this? and the council of state? They should just approve another loan. If Mahama is tired he should just relinquish the seat and have freedom to womanize and leave Ghana alone. Else ........

This is a confrontational government not a problem solving one. It has never believed in democracy and fair play. It has ruled this country by propaganda and insults; ministers lack the finese of diplomats. They portray themselves to be socialists but are rather the worst capitalists and thieves of all time.
They have appointed non qualified and inexperienced ex school boys as ministers who run amok with insults at anybody who criticises constructively. They are novices of political culture and making a mess of managing the country yet Ghanaians, especially the ignorant ones love them for the sake of half a bag of rice and some sardines just before elections so they can be bribed into returning them to power;
They have stolen the resources of the state and run the country broke. As a result they cannot afford to pay workers and thus the mess we see.
THEY HAVE CHOPPED $27 BILLION TO DRY BONES LOOK AT THIS LIST OF THE RICHEST IN GHANA IN 2013 AND SEE WHERE THE NDC POLITICIANS, FRIENDS AND FAMILIES ARE INCLUDING WOYOME AND ASIEDU NKETIA
WILL TELL YOU WHERE THE 27 BILLION HAS GONE - INTO THE POCKETS OF MAHAMA, HIS FAMILY, HIS FRIENDS AND NDC APPARATCHIKS IN GOVERNMENT. JUST LOOK AT THEIR POSITIONS ON THE FORBES RICH LIST OF GHANA BELOW. WHICH PRESIDENT IN THE DEVELOPED ADVANCED COUNTRIES HAS A PERSONAL NET WORTH COMPARABLE WITH THAT OF JOHN MAHAMA PRESIDENT OF A POOR COUNTRY THAT GOES TO IMF BEGGING FOR PITTANCE $700 MILLION DOLLARS WHEN HE HAS STASHED AWAY $900 MILLION DOLLARS AT WHAT SALARY PER YEAR FOR THE NUMBER OF YEARS HE HAS BEEN IN PARLIAMENT AND NOW PRESIDENT
LOOK AT AFRIYIE ANKRAH AND ASIEDU NKETIA ON THIS LIST AND THE REST OF THE SO CALLED SOCIALISTS ON THIS LIST
Twenty Richest People In Ghana For 2013
1. Ibrahim Mahama -$1.9 billion /Businessman , Brother of the current President of Ghana. Only Ghanaian to own a private jet.
2. Alfred Mahama -$1.3 billion./ Businessman, brother of the current President of Ghana.
3. Roland Agambire – $1.1billion/ RLG (eBay type of business) (Business man )
4. Joseph Agyepong – $1.05billion/Businessman (Zoomlion waste management company and other businesses)….. title=”Company banned by World Bank in Liberia” target=”_blank”>

Doctors over the years think they are indispensable. They live in a dream land. Sooner than later we as citizens will surely find a way of living without them. What about the sacrifices of we soldiers who don't even have time for our families. The very people who keep us emotional stable. Dr should go to BURMA CAMP and find out how we are coping. Is it because we don't talk for the public to hear. For your information, soldiers from the General to the last private soldier, our Vehicle maintenance allowance is ¢40. I mean Forty GH Cedis. Having worked for all these years we don't even have the luxury of being allowed to import a saloon car at text free let alone have risk allowance. The Annoying thing is that Dr have all become money conscious and pompous cos they have the childesh thinking that without them we will die. They should wait to see the police or the military to go on strike and see whether they can even have the peace of mind to enjoy the so called money money. If u think u r no longer willing to work, u can resign. There is time for everything. U think u r the only people who r educated. U have no idea. Resign and leavenour hospitals for us cos after all you don't stay to work in the public hospitals. U r always busy looking ways yo extorte Moby from poor sick people all in the name of Private Hospital and Locuum. We r tired. Just resign and leave us alone.

It's so amazing that mist Ghanaians are no longer scared of withdrawal of services by doctors. Eventually, the role of doctors is being seen as less important than everyone has thought. The myth is broken. Ghanaians are fed up with you. Even in your presence, we lose our relatives, friends and loved ones. The controller of our lives is our Great Maker. He owns, protects and controls our lives. Your greedy demands have made you (GMA) unpopular in the eyes of an ordinary Ghanaian. We are eventually learning to live without dependence on the synthetic life support from you doctors. Wake up traditional healers, herbalists. We need to empower our old institution that helped my great-grandparents to live over a century. With your so called improved medical services, how long can an ordinary Ghanaian live.
Doctors, I say with impunity that you're ashamed and can go to hell to f**k yourself.

The GMA should not consider mass resignation or indefinite strikes as options in their industrial action.
The Strike is illegal and it is a matter of time for the gov't to terminate the appointment of striking Doctors as was done by the Techiman Holy Family Hospital
The mass resignation is also no option as it is by conception an illegal strike.
Doctors are essential service providers and the Labour code forbids Doctors from going on strike as essential service workers.
The GMA have no alternative than to stop the strike and continue to negotiate.
