This incestuous rapist of a MP, who has impregnated all female members of his wife's family with the exception of the mother-in-law seems to be suffering from bird-flu.
What sense does it make for the Mahama govt to contract loans(to be paid later with interest) to buy sanitary pads for NDC schoolchildren ?

The government´s economic Team must be up and doing in explaining the positive aspects of"good loans".Loans are sometmes a necessary evil. Some Major infrastructural projets connot simply get off groud without loans.Mention can be made of Bui dam which is adding about 400 megawatts of power to the national grid with loans acquired from the Chinese Exim Bank.
Down the Memory lanes,Akosombo dam was constructed through the magnanimity of Kaiser alumina with the Support of their shareholders from Export-Import Bank of Waschinton DC and Ghana government.According to Kains rule of Multiplier effect, the benefit from the two cited examples and many more, are huge by way of derivative companies, housing, education, hospitals and Agricalture.
Further more,we are cognizant of the fact that some loans have been contracted to Service the oil and gas infrastructure. The Problem is not about the loans but not Meeting the construction Deadlines of These mega Projects thereby leading to lose Revenue.
The way Forward is to surcharge any economic fallout from such an undue delay in the construction of These Projects.God help mother Ghana.
In conclution, imagine what would have happened to Ghana without Akosombo and Bui dams which were constructed with Loans.

If you have proof, willing to stand on principles and with love for country you should file rape charges against the MP; adulterous affairs does not constitute rape neither did the constitution of Ghana require a moral clause based on innuendo by zealots. Loans are bad for everyone because it proves borrowers do not live within their means; Ghana never did and so is every nation on earth. The only difference between loans obtained by Ghana's government and other governments is Ghana's requests are not based on national need but on the need for ruling parties to ensure its management never have to work to make honest living after leaving office while the nation is held in servitude for a lifetime.

MPs lamenting about the government's addiction to loans are trying to say, that we in Ghana don't see much good about additional loans if previous ones have not been accounted for in the sense of positive change the lives of the people.
Many countries take loans but afterwards see evidences of real change in the live of the people. We need to feel it not only in figures (89bn) but in meaningful improvements because in the end if those loans do not improve the people to be capable to pay back with some of the benefits we gain, then what was the point of going for it, just to entrench poverty? For God sakes!
Again, there have still not been light at the end of tunnel that generations after current leadership could benefits from loans and be transformed to be lenders instead. The overall point is that many successful countries prioritise and borrow their way into economically viable sectors of their economies to empower the people to be resourceful to an appreciable level of productivity that could pay back with excesses of gains. But, in Ghana's case we don't take loans into areas that could let next generations become lenders other than continuing in poor.
We don't take measures that break govt institutions, discourage private sector growth, breed corruption, etc. then borrow our way on top of it thinking loans would bring magic solutions. From history if former leaders had invested loans viably, present leaders could have been LENDERS just as China and others have done. Mr Bagbin should better encourage legislations that speak of benefits of lending not borrowing, bad leadership!

Going for loans with attached "austerity measures" are bad. Bad in the sense that the dictates that comes with it destroy our economy.
If our leaders are that good with commonsense, they can lead the crusade by helping us "cut our coat according to our size".
Do we need loans? I will say no. Do not get me wrong because that is my opinion. look at our government. It is too big. Reduction is needed. We can save some money. A small nation like Ghana doesn't need that number of parliamentarians. Even the number of soldiers that we employ is too huge. What about our civil servants? Too many on government payroll. Making drastic cuts on the above can save us millions that can be channeled towards some development.
Due to partisan politics, we fear to tackle the bull by the horn fearing it may gore us to death. Also, if we design a good tax policy, we can generate enough revenue. How many millions go waste or into private pockets at the ports?
Mahama said that Ghana loses One hundred million dollars at the ports every months. Hello! Are we that stupid to let such huge sums money go waste or into private pockets then go and knock someone's door looking for loans with interest? Come on folks? Where is our commonsense?

It is a well known fact that when you spend your own hard earned money, you usually spend it well. You make sure every pesewa works well for you. Not so when it concerns loans! Loans are 100% of the time mis-managed in Ghana. Always very little to show for the colossal amounts borrowed. You can always find somewhere to borrow more if needed and pass the sometimes heavy cost of borrowing and repayments to the next government and the next generation of poor Ghanaians and walk away!

What benefits accrue from loans that aren't used for the intended purposes for which they acquired? What positive aspects of unaccounted for loans should one be proud of? Parliament seems to be doing " a good job" by approving several loans every year for projects in the fiscal year but only waits after two or three years after such approvals to hold the Executive to account through the sitting over the Auditor-General's report. Could Parliament be up and doing with the same enthusiasm in loans approval through regular visits to projects for which loans were okayed to ensure value for money. So much has been borrowed with little to show. Anytime loans are approved the next thing they do is get new vehicles.
