SO THEY ARE FORCING PEOPLE TO GO BACK TO THE OLD POST PAID BECAUSE THEY CAN CHEAT CUSTOMERS. IF YOU ASK FOR A METER THEY WILL TELL YOU WITHOUT MINCING WORDS THAT IF YOU WANT IT THE OFFICIAL WAY, IT COULD TAKE UP TO A YEAR OR MORE TO GET ONE. BUT IF YOU WANT THEY CAN GET ONE FOR YOU IN A DA OR TWO. ARE THESE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE INTEREST OF THE NATION AT HEART AS THEY ARE CLAIMING. EXCHANGE OF NEW METERS, I UNDERSTAND ISS FREE, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO COUGH UP ABOUT 100GHC FORGET THE INSTALLATION. THESE ARE SYMPTONS OF A VERY CORRUPT ORGANISATION. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WAS HAPPENING AT GHANA TELECOM. NOW VODAFONE IS MAKING MONEY FROM THE SAME COMPANY THAT WAS MAKING LOSSES. BEFORE I FORGET, HOW COME YOU NEVER SEE PUBLIC ADVERTS FOR JOBS IN WHAT IS A MAJOR EMPLOYER IN THE COUNTRY. THEY PLAY "KOKOFU FOOTBALL" AND EMPLOY SQUARE PEGS TO FILL ROUND HOLES. UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO ADDRESS ALL THESE THINGS, I WILL SAY: PRIVATISE IT! QUICK!

Selling ecg will not solve the power crisis that we are experincing. If not for political expediency and lack of understanding of ecg operational activities, i wonder the motive behind this decion on the part of government. How on earth could you owed ecg to the tune of $277m and went for a loan of $500m to give the company out. Does that make sense? We need only $200m to transform the fortune of ecg . Mps, dces, ministers, footsoldiers and party gurus should stop selling ecg meters like tomatoes in the market when election time is around this will allow ecg to work effectively and efficiently rather than privatizing it to profit hungry and greedy foreign company. Have they considered the repercussions: lost of jobs, higher tarriffs and so. They should go to uganda and ask. These dubious deal is going to compound the woes of the citizenry.

EGC staff are so corrupt that they condone illegal connections. The staff who would be assigned to identify illegal connections would become instant millionaires by taking bribes. And even the manager who is supposed to assign enforcement staff would only choose his cronies so that portion of the bribery booty can end up in his or her pockets.
Those of us who live in US know how consistent power supply to homes and businesses are. The generation and distribution of power are with private companies. The companies have assigned staff who read meters on regular basis or by remote devices. Computers keep monthly comparison of usage as well as neighborhood average usage. If two consecutive meter readings are too low or too high based on past or expected usage, the computers trigger an alarm for investigation into the power usage through a particular meter. The white man is no better than a black man. It is the white man willingness to obey laws and pay for services as against the black man's propensity to engage in self destruct behaviors that have widened the misery in Mother Africa. It's not Ghana alone. Unless we change, we're economically doomed for ever.
