They Lady has an uphill task to cross to parliament. If her constituents thinks she could push for their needs in parliament, so be it. But this is not the case of student ministers(the babies with sharp teeth) who are imposed to serve the whole nation. They barely have time to do their ministerial work since apart from attending classes for their course work they also hop from one radio and television studios to the other across the nation. Where did we go wrong to have Mahama succeeded Incompetent Mills to ruin the nation for us in this way.

In NDC, ministers are appointed before they begin to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills required to perform in the very role they already been appointed to. The economy is suffering because those at the helm of affairs lack the basic knowledge, understanding and skills to perform. Consider. a situation where people are appointed to perform as medical doctors before they formally start the training to be one. What would happen to patient care? That is the situation we find ourselves as a nation. Ghana suffers.

BIA seems to be too focused on traditional academic considerations (e.g. School, school, school...and then application after you've forgotten so much theory).

This outfit needs to consider that working while schooling gives experiential knowledge. This is a real world asset and badly needed in cultures like Ghana.

Unless there is ample evidence of financial double-dipping, punctuality or productivity issues--none is given here--leave student appointees alone to do their jobs. Most likely, many need the money and the experience. Thank you.

With a summary "execution" like the one you gave, it is no wonder Ghana has issues nurturing RAW and ENERGETIC political talent.

Please keep an eye on the recent EC Chair appointee. To my knowledge, she has three degrees...next, do consider Miss Francisca Oteng-Mensah. Let us see how each will perform in the area of adherence to organisational protocol and project execution. Thank you.

If some one thinks he does not have the requisite skill, let them get the training before coming into government. You can't be a minister or deputy and be in law school or taking an MBA. Thank God, other sensible people are taking note of that too. If you want a degree, get it first or later and not when you have accepted to work full time for the state. Governance is not for students. It is for those who are already trained and committed.

Also, I do not know the condition of service for those appointees either. May be the BIA should have called for the study of their condition of service before addressing this issue. Radio demands and mere talks will not solve these issues. I further agree that our officials require an upgrade, they need not be stagnant, and so, the need for them to go for further studies with a conditionality.

It is as if good education is not needed. If the person is employed but decides to learn more, that should not be a negative issue. His managers should determine the suitability of the course the person plan to do. Depending on the relevance and duration , the person can be given options if government can not support.
The managers and so call advisers should rather make sure that the person returns and not sack him or her coz continues education is vital for the development of our dear LAND

I was chasing my documents at Lands Dept for months and later learned that the key personnel handling them were part time students and as such were never back after lunch break! We pay these people full day's work and we get half day. It is about time we stopped this or let them job share and reduce unemployment.
