Mr. Mahama should've waited for the Supreme Court's ruling on the matter before appointing the new EC boss. He shouldn't have panicked because he felt the SC might decide against his appointment of the EC boss, which I believe is a real possibility. Those against his appointment of the EC commissioners and the chairman have valid and concrete points; since the president is also a political player, he should not be allowed to appoint the referee.
No matter the type of cut and paste constitution we may have, I don't believe the framers intended to give undue advantage to one political player over the others. Even though it was written under the P/NDC military dictatorship that wanted to control every institution and twisted the neck of Article 70(2) and Article 91(3) to appoint the first EC chairman in order to perpetuate their rule, it does not mean that we should allow the undemocratic procedure to continue indefinitely.

Eating beef has nothing to do with Fulani herds men trespassing on your land and destroying your livelihood. It takes years to reap the fruits of planting cocoa, only for some godddamn Fulani to come with 500 cattle and mess up everything. They have to find a place for their herd. That is one of the reasons why elephants were killed indiscriminately through out western Ghana and the Ivory Coast in the fifties up till the 80s.They were causing too much havoc to our livelihood. That said, rampant grazing leads to desertification as evidenced in the upper regions of West Africa. That is the main reason why Fulani herds men keep moving south. They have already depleted the lands in the north. You will find the same problem in Central African Republic....hence the rampant killings of Fulanis by the natives.

If you had the patience to read my piece, you would have noticed me asking what happened to the the land given to the Fulanis to confine their animals sometime ago.Mind you most of these Fulanis are mere shepherds, employed by Ghanaians who own the cattle so the anger should not only be directed at the Fulanis but Ghanaians as well.Of late people talk of stopping the importation of foreign poultry products whilst our own farmers are not able to meet local demand. These animals need to be confined and this requires the intervention of Government and Chiefs before things get out of control which can lead to the inhuman treatment being meted out to the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah.

@Ekuoba Kwabena Gyasi:Go and stand before Alhaji Grunsah of King Faisal who owns cattle in the Afram plains that Fulanis should be treated ruthlessly and hear what he'll tell you.We in Ghana should be grateful that Fulanis bring cattle to Ghana, else we would have had to spend our foreign exchange importing more beef into the country. Moreover once we are signatories to the ECOWAS protocol which allows for free movement of goods and people, doing otherwise will be a breach to the protocol.Draconian measures like the extermination of six million Jews by Adolf Hitler during the Second World war will not solve the problem!

You are a very sensible person. You don't belong on this forum. This forum used to be interesting to read but it has degenerated into something vulgar. Need I say more?
