I agree 100% with the demolishing, this should have been done a long time ago but are you saying that the folks whose ramshackle were demolished are all NPP folks? Obviously the reason why it took government a long time to do this was because of what is happening now, and the repercussion of dissatisfied folks blaming the government and perhaps throwing them out of office. These folks may be poor and undisciplined but they are not stupid. We act as if people can't think and therefore there is always some political motivation.Why are you surprised by their reaction and why are you blaming the obvious expected reaction on politics? They did not demonstrate right away because of the security in place during the demolishing exercise. The smart thing for the security forces was to keep the army and police in place for weeks after a demolishing to avoid such demonstration. They should pepper spray/teargas them till they leave the area.

Bravo to Mahama's admin for this decision, these are the bold decisions the country needs. Keep it up!

They then run to the new site, so Santa Maria, as I´m saying blacks would be blacks without any simple understanding.

Where are the houses for them to be moved in?
AMA had the right to demolish these structures because they were illegal. We do not need to politicise this. In a lawful society, you need planning permission to put up any structure in the land. Those leading the protest should ascertain the validity of these structures before agreeing to become the spokespersons and to discourage such acts of vandalism and lawlessness.

These same people have no right to keep flooding Accra within their back filling with saw dust and latterite and blocking of the lagoon and river for their selfish intetest. The rest of Accra and it's people also have rights. Each day delayed is another day of risk of another disaster in Accra.

The squatters at SODOM and GOMMORA have no right to complain. Who gave them the right and authority to build there. They know full well that it is all illegal. Under threat of no votes each time they have been pampered and now gotten away with killing over 200 people as a result of the floods caused by their actions of blocking the Odaw and the Lagoon with their rubbish, saw dust to create land where it should have been the river. Enough of this and full support to the authority for taking the bold step of doing what needed to be done long ago. Forget sensitisation and notice and compensation. That is required only for those who built according to the law and rightfully with the required approvals. The is an emergency situation that requires drastic and immediate action. KEEP IT UP AND COMPLETE THE JOB. THOSE WHO DIED WERE ALL OF DIFFERENT PARTIES. STOP THE POLITICS.

Hv any of these blind critics bothered to ask why the place is commonly known as Sodom n Gomorrah? The rate of SOCIAL VICES by residents of de place. It will only take a brave n president who hv the nation @ heart to embark on such exercise. I will also like to let these bad critics know majority of the phone snatchers at circle, armed robbers, prostitutes etc resides at the place. I happily support dis exercise bcos (1) It will reduce the rate of robbery in the town. (2) Enhance the free flow of water to the sea. Should we continue to live like an animal farm where lawlessness and a high degree of indiscipline is the order of the day? People are saying the government should have provided them with shelter before the demolishing but those same people have refused to realise that those inhabitants are there illegally without any permit what so ever. Do we as a people want a situation where any body can just erect any structure anywhere? That will mean that there will be no streets anymore, no water bodies and extreme suffering and severe diseases will come to be our permanent companions. Let's think up and spur our selves with all this political chikenaeries, it won't take us anywhere.

Ghana police is over sensitized by ethnicity and politics, they cannot function at full throttle.

After relocating them Nkurmah came out with a developmental project for the area called "Levindor Hill". And this was to be dredging waste in the city. after the1966 coup the project was abandon to date.

And in 1992/3 during the Dagomba and Konkomba difference( the guinea fowl war), today sodomoh and gomorah also call "konkomba market" was used as temporal shelter those who flee from the North to Accra as refugeesplace same as the Liberians in Budumbura. But this people are abandon Unlike their counterparts in Bujumbura.
