Yes, we like last minute. But since when did the Ministry and the Employers realize there are workers without Social Security numbers and what did they do about it. Govt Ministries and MDAs/MMDAs Heads must answer.

How will it be deducted from source if there is no SSNIT number in the first place? The employee acquires the number and submit to employer.

Affected workers should be able to re-apply to positions they currently hold. Investigating and just adding names won't cut it.

Most of them are ghost workers or NDC foot soldiers. How long has this stupid practice been going on? It is a deliberate attempt to siphon money from the national purse by the "powers that be".

This is the practise in most progress countries including the U.S. Basic requirements for employment are Social security number, filled tax form and bank account number (for direct deposit). We can't solve the problem of "ghost workers" without the above requirements in place. I was under the impression that there was no unique indentification number such as social security in Ghana.

Please when it happens that there has been a late submission of the SSNT number of of employees, SSNT officials should be blamed for that. I want to know if newly trained are aslo going to be affected in anyway since we are still on allowance.

I know a lot of teachers who photocopied their snnit numbers and sent it to CAGD but it is still not appearing on their payslip.
some had to pay 100ghc before it was done for them. So it is not always true that workers refuse ...
