Go and see how Prez Mahama of Ghana has transformed Gonjaland with Ghana money just within the two and half years that he has been in power. Every town, village and hamlet in Gonjaland has received a facelift with new facilities such as roads, toilet facilities, markets, mosques, good quality water projects, electricity extension projects, etc. The question is did J. J. Rawlings do the same thing to Voltarians when he was in power for twenty years? I really weep for Ewes whose votes brought Mahama to power.

A maid stole some packed chips took it to her room and enjoyed it. 2 days later she saw the same chips being given to the dog so she now asked a friend whether she would die since it looks like what she stole was dog food. Yes there was a free financial package plus mobile phone just for taking an injection. So it was sent queitly to the world bank for sharing. Now it has come out that it is an Ebola vaccine they are making noises! nobody would have heard of it if it was anything different. When a cured ebola patient has un protected sex with a non ebola person he or she will infect that person. And that person will end up dying after 21 days. Most ebola vaccines have some element of ebola virus in it. So the voltarians can go for more mobile phones and ghs200 cedis quietly for just an ebola injection . They should only ensure those who take the injection are not permitted to come to Accra , they can go to Togo for their urgent needs. They should also note that direct cash chopping projects with no health implication goes to the North!! Looks like God is dealing with some people in this country!!!

Besides, Ebola is already active in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, won't those already stricken in those countries by the virus "benefit" rather than looking for NEW TERRITORY to spread the deadly virus, and then pretend to treat it in the name of so called "TRIAL" or "RESEARCH"?
Wise up, use your head!!!

Do you know that every drug you've taken has been tried on someone else. Ebola will surface again whether we like it or not. And it will be nice to have a vaccine ready when and wherever it hits again.

You obviously have access to the internet. You might want to pull up a map of Ghana because you will find that Sierra Leone--still actively involved (with increasing numbers each week) is involved in the current Ebola outbreak, and is smack-dab next to Ghana.
A country like Ghana is the right choice for the trials because they are (so far) untouched by Ebola. This greatly helps researchers (some of whom are Ghanians)get important data from the trials. In addition, Ghana has the advanced research facilities and doctors needed to handle the complex process of clinical trials.
In addition, Ghana is a better choice than the US (home to J&J) because there have been only 4 Ebola patients in the US,of which 1 person died. However, West Africa (which includes the country next to Ghana--Sierra Leone) has had a total of 6352 deaths. Clearly, the risk for an Ebola outbreak is more likely in than in the US, and Ghana would be one of the first countries to benefit from vaccines to prevent an Ebola infection.

If that is the truth, then the PMs who did not know about the trials should immediately resign in humiliation...because people like me, who live across the world from Ghana, have been following the issue for months now, mainly from local Ghana news sources.
The MPs need to take off their outside agitators' leashes and take responsibility for remaining silent for months while negotiations and plans were made for the trials and man-up to their silence about the trials, lending their implicit agreement with the trials.

But my sorrow is that why should this be tried in the Volta Region of Ghana and not the 3 countries that are already affected. If it has to be tried in Ghana, then it should be taken to the region of the one who has given the green light for it to be tried. If Hohoe/Volta region is no more part of Ghana, please do not wipe its people away with Ebola. How much has America and its alias given to Ghana to wipe Volta Region out with Ebola? Volta Region is big enough to be on its own. It is really callous and criminal for any Ghanaian to give GHC200 to people to infect them with a virus which has almost wiped out three countries in our sub-region.
Posterity will never forgive anyone who bring this virus to our country. Our blood will be on the head of these persons and their generation

If a vaccine is produced, it is tried first on mice, monkeys, etc before trial on humans. The vaccine is expected to prevent the disease and trial on humans will have to be followed by the introduction of the Ebola virus (disease) itself to the vaccinated person to observe if it is effective.
Can you imagine that happening and even if the one vaccinated does not get the disease, he/she lives in a family. He will certainly transfer it to another person.
Is the President aware of this? Does it have approval of the President? Prof Binka who is spearheading this should first vaccinate himself and his family first before offering it to another person for GH¢200.00 and a mobile phone.
This nonsense must stop. They should be chased out with cutlasses and guns; it is a declaration of war on the people of the Volta Region. NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you serious? Giving thanks to the members of parliament?
For what? Trying to pull the sheep's wool over your eyes to shield themselves from criticism?
They must have known for months now about the vaccine trial, and if they didn't they are unfit to be in parliament.
Look at it this way. I, a regular person, who lives on the other side of the world, have been following the vaccine trials for months now by reading news articles on the internet. Many of these articles were from GhanaWeb.
If I--a nobody from the US--new about the vaccine trials months ago, why didn't parliament? For the PMs to stay at least as informed as I am, all they had to do was simply follow the news in their local news source--GhanaWeb (a great publication, by the way).
Either parliament is lying to the public about their knowledge about the clinical trials, or the PMs are not intelligent, or resourceful, enough to access news articles on the internet to keep up with current Ghanian issues.
Either way, Ghana's PMs are trying to pull a fast one on Ghana's citizens.
MPs need to come clean with when they knew about the trials or, if they continue to claim they knew nothing, why they knew nothing when a person on the other side of the world has been following the issue on GhanaWeb.

Therefore, Ghana (the only WAfrican country which has not had an Ebola outbreak) will be the first ones to benefit from the clinical trials if Ebola should cross the border to Sierra Leone and try to make a home in Ghana.
In addition, Ghana has a top-notch university, with brilliant scientists, who can learn along with the others involved in the trials.
These scientists will be able to take this hands-on knowledge and use it benefit others in West Africa...and around the world.

Who knows where it strikes next
We should be more concerned about drinking concoctions sold to us as a the cure for all illnesses. We are dying slowly from the side effect, eg kidney failure. We should demand testing of these to make sure they are safe.

If Parliament didn't know about the vaccine trials then they are not availing themselves to free access to news that folks like me--who live on the other side of the world--can(and do) easily read every day from sources like GhanaWeb.
They should be ashamed to admit that (apparently, if we are to believe they had not knowledge about vaccine trials which had been in the works for months) they are so powerless and backward that normal citizens from around the world can figure out how to access Ghana news...but yet the PMs cannot.
Ghanians should be asking their representatives why they are not keeping up with important new findings and information, regularly written about in local and international news sources.
I think the members of parliament are trying desperately (and, unfortunately for them, transparently) to distance themselves from a decision by the MOH with which parliament had no objections before...but now that political agitators are stirring the Ghanian pot of voters, the parliament members pretend ignorance of what even normal people, politically unconnected to what goes on in Ghana's parliament, readily and, indeed, easily access from Ghana's local, and international, news sources.
This MOH decision did not occur in a vacuum and is not some new situation. These trials have been planned for months now, and discussed frequently in the news.
The members of parliament need to put on their big-boy pants and take responsibility for their lack of intervention months ago--if, indeed, they are so against the vaccine trials.
Otherwise, it looks like the MPs are simply bending over for the outside agitators who seek to build their own strength by taking advantage of the weakness of the MPs.

Sierra Leone is still involved with an active, increasing Ebola problem.
Sierra Leone is right next to Ghana, making Ghana greatly at risk for getting its own Ebola outbreak going.
The Speaker and the rest of the MPs know this. They also have either known about the trials for months now and are trying to run away from their complicit agreement with the trials...or they are too stupid to be in Parliament because even I, half-way around the world, only has to read GhanaWeb every day to be informed that the trials have been in the works for months now.
Having people vaccinated is one sure way to quickly stop an Ebola outbreak. If Ghanians are vaccinated against Ebola, there will be no home for Ebola in Ghana.
So if Sierra Leone's Ebola outbreak enters Ghana, and no one is vaccinated and, therefore, easily infected...blame the Speaker. He is the one agitating to try to pass the blame of Parliament (which must have known about the trials for months) on to the MOH.

The least Ghanaians can contribute to improving the health of themselves is to participate in these clinical trials. If the West refuses to give the finished product to Africa you will complain. How can Africa continue to be begging for free things ? This is an opportunity for Ghana to do the clinical trials and open the doors for more trials. Wake up Ghana.
