  3. If yes will he be attending parliamentary proceedings at the same time
  I'll be glad if someone can educate me. That notwithstanding I must congratulate you for the bold decision you have taken

  It does take long for a chief to be gazette by the National House of chiefs if his appointment as a chief is free from any chieftaincy dispute. However, as we have to know chieftaincy dispute in Ghana is bloody and it sometimes takes the court too long to settle these disputes. Therefore, until all issues are settled, a chief name cannot be announced or published in an official of national house of chiefs.
  
  Now back to the MP’S case. Let us consider one went for an interview and his been promised of a job with good pay and bigger responsibilities than his current job but before they offer him the job they have to do a background check, does he goes to his employer and submit his resignation letter without any appointment letter for the new job?
  
  The MP has been made a chief, his chieftaincy has not be gazette by the national house of chiefs because they have to do investigation to prevent future chieftaincy conflict until the investigate ends do you think the MP should resign for his post?

  The chieftaincy Act is a minefield of controversies. For instance a rival or any one could cause mischief by contesting the enskinment in court and so delay the process of gazetting thus creating a lacuna which could be used by a party such as the NPP to prevent the holding of bye-elections. I know the Hon Chief disappointed his party by throwing in the towel to allow sleeping dogs lie. It is better to avoid controversy than to engage in prolonged litigation. The NPP did this in the case of Hon Amoateng by insisting that even though he was in jail in the USA he had not yet been convicted, and the drug dealer MP collected 18 months sitting allowance without representing his constiuents, and the NPP prevented the holding of bye elections there for that long period. To add insult to injury, they honored him in his home town and gave him a hero's welcome. What legacy are the NPP leaving? And more wahal was to follow. Amoateng now forged a lady's passport to return home for which offence he is now facing court action. I believe this chief has seen the mischief the NPP could use him for.
