The blood of the innocent will never be washed away so these feeble bullshit attempts to shift the blame will never fly. Bull shit will kill you one day Mr Finance minister, that's what happens when you surround yourself with pepeni toilet carriers all day. How many projects have you and your cronies frustrated so that you can collect bribe money in advance ? In this particular case you are talking about the Conti group who paid up but what about the rest who didnt ? We know about the high rise project which included sewage and drainage systems for much of Accra and didnt cause debt or should we mention the railway project which also have the same together with optical cables and other infrastructure . We are aware of at least 4 other projects that would have solved this problem but under this NDC corrupt govt will never see the light of day . Yes we told you we have gathered evidence of your wickedness and cruelty together with your Anti Akan agenda and plan to release these facts to the media 2 to 3 months before the elections globally so when the time comes none of you will have anywhere to hide . Yes we have all the documents and data .We shall not only remove you from there but make sure you all go to jail . Ass for JJ we shall lynch him and hang him by his balls for all to see as he has no respect for his betters and talks shit about murdered mills .this ayigbe sorry ass attempt to back track on his stupid statements , some one should tell him stupidity is not considered constructive criticisms but is simple skinpain . We have to improve our drainage systems and not demolish houses! Haven `t you heard about Palm Islands? These are houses built on lands retrieved from the sea. There is no overflooding due to very good drainage .Floods occur on lands without houses. What is the sense in demolishing houses? We have overflooding here in Europe too but no houses are pulled down. The drainage systems get upgraded and this is what we have to do.Not more than a year ago, Texas was overflooded. Were houses demolished? No, because that isn`t the solution. It is only good drainage that can solve such problems.

Hi,
May I say that the problem is not to do with people building in water ways.It is to do with lack of proper drainage system. The AMA must embark on projects of constructing the drainage system and conserving the water with proper underground reservoirs. this is called water harvesting. what the government must do is source the loan and bring in a company like British water company 'Thames Water'to advise them to get it done. GHANA must wake up it is about time.May I say again the problem is not the buildings. The minister must stop the demolitions.

This is not about buildings on waterways. It is about a drainage system. It doesn't have anything to do with waterways at all.
Are we suggesting that, by demolishing buildings on waterways, there will be no drains to carry the rain water from the floods and the flood water would just be flowing on the so-called waterways to wherever it needs to go?
It is about drains and has always been about a drainage system and the subtle attempt to make it about people building on waterways being the cause shows an egregious failure of leadership further compounded by the fact that, leadership is lacking in the institutions that have been tasked with issuing the right permits for planned and proper construction.
It is not about buildings on waterways. It is about the drainage system which does not exist.
If the so-called leaders were to have the ability, just any ability to think and plan, they would have constructed the underground drainage system what they call sewers first, before any surface construction.
Flood waters cannot be flowing on waterways without drains most especially in a city. On the hillside in less crowded and further flung areas away from sprawling urban centers and communities, one can talk about waterways and not in sprawling urban centers which are unplanned with no drainage system.

I feel sad with all the engineers we have in our country, the only solution to the annual flood we have been experiencing in Accra most is demolition. to me that's lazy mans engineering advice. yes people might have made mistake in putting up buildings in water ways but can't those people be fined and the town n country planning think of finding alternative way of creating channels for water during raining seasons. I get a little angry when the only solution our engineers can proposed is demolition. we seem to forget what one goes through if you want to do the correct thing, just apply for a building permit and its like you've done what is not permitted . the frustration and time wasting you will GI through unless you pay bribe ant the same time price of materials and labour are rising up each day. Mr. president , instead of demolition our districts and municipal s should be replanned and the construction of drainage taken serious.
