    Accra needs a proper sewer system. Proper covered underground drains to prevent people from dumping rubbish into them. The laws also have to be enforced to prevent people from building on waterways.

    I did witness the massive flood at the Ga West area,in fact it was Horrible. Demolition of the houses around that area is a good idea.And the gutters need to be reconstructed well for easy passage of the water.

    "A filling station in the area has been earmarked for demolition." Look? This filling station will not be demolished in the end. the owner will bribe the "big shots" and the problem will remain! That is the Ghana we now have!

    These building did not just spring up overnight. Where were all the authorities when the buildings were being put up?

    I can suggest one but soliciting ideas on this forum is not the way forward.

    Underground tunnels properly fitted with pipes can be built in a comprehensive drainage system and that is a possible solution.

    Accra and its suburbs must be planned.
