At least there was some stability they even went further to establish Metro Mass Transport to reduce the hardship on travelers. What has NDC done when Fuel prices & Cedi Stability were moving in opposite direction?

The ultimate goal of deregulation is to allow many suppliers of a commodity/service into the market to promote a competitive spirit and reduce price through the supply and demand mechanism. An added benefit are innovative goods/services and efficient means of production to reduce cost and maximize profit
Contrast deregulation to the NPA fixing prices in a regulated market.A most inefficient way of bringing prices down. The reason the prices of refined petroleum products are fuelling inflation and driving up interest rates and killing our manufacturing industries on a piecemeal basis.
The NPA should concern itself with ensuring that the rules and regulations are sheepishly followed so the purpose for which they were put in place is not defeated. These should enhance competition to the letter so prices can be reduced. If prices are soaring after the enactment of the dos and don'ts,then the dos/don'ts should be scrutinized.
In an effort to deregulate a market, one also needs to guard against mergers and acquisitions which has the potential of creating monopolies and stifling the competition.
Once again,to revisit the value of the Ghc vis-a-vis the USD and other currencies, there is a correlation between a currency and the underlying economy.Strong economies generate tremendous investment opportunities which in turn boost the demand for their currencies and lead to appreciation of their exchange rates and vi e versa.
A persistent strengthening of one's currency is as bad as a persistent depreciation of the currency.Because just as depreciation leads to a reduction in the value of assets denominated in the currency and inflation,an over-appreciated currency leads to high cost of exports and lost of foreign exchange earnings.Consequently, any catchy exchange rate policy should target a focal point where the rate will compromise both scenarios.
In view of the afore-mentioned,I will be mindful of beating my chest and dancing in jubilation as is being exhibited in official circles.
The social democrats and whichever tag they may choose to bear, are not endeared to these simple ideas which have made the developed countries prosperous. These are some of the ideals of capitalism. So why should Ghanaians vote for any socialism-oriented political party or the semblance of it?
Why don't you give Ghana to the NPP to entrench these prosperity-guaranteed ideas so we will stop the circuitous economic journeys?
We cannot continue on the path of confused ideology and waste forever.
We must develop before the law of diminishing marginal returns sets in to negate incomes from our natural resources.
This dialogue should not be about any political party. It should be about our one and only Ghana. It should be about doing what is good for Ghana.
So vote Nana, vote NPP in 2016 just for Ghana.
