Does it mean that if you have a problem now, you stop planning for the future? Are we saying that should the NPP come to power and the current energy problems persist, they would not attempt to resolve it? Are we not being told that the only way to resolve the current DUMSOR problem is to vote out the NDC? Should we wait for the NPP to come to power before we think about the areas that needed to be covered by electricity?
I heard an NPP MP earlier this week on Peace FM saying that the energy/power problems would be resolved INSPITE of the NDC government. And that come 2017/2018, due to private power projects being undertaken, the energy crisis would be over. If this is true, (since it is not one of the so-called empty promises by the NDC), then putting plans in place to connect more communities to power, I think, is not misplaced planning. Let us not wait till one party comes to power before we start thinking ahead. NDC will not rule forever, so any planning, any good planning being done now should be encouraged.
Not thinking ahead has always been our problem !!!

Talking about connecting all communities to the national grid; whichever government does so, should not forget to have in place full and efficient equipment to generate enough electricity. Lessons should be learnt from the past. Provision was not made for expansion of electricity consumption when the national grid was extended to vast of communities in the past, hence the present problem of 'dumsor'.
