This is Ghana where a dead person only gets good things said about him/her. The most shameful of this was what I heard this morning 14/May/2015 by Kwasi Nyantakyi saying all sorts of things about the man and how a better coach he was and bloody blah blah. The question is Mr. Nyantakyi when this man was alive and you saw and knew he was that great how come you never gave him a chance or is it because he was not going to allow you and your looting goons to plunder the nation anymore should he become a coach of the national team.

My greatest memory of Sir Jones was as an elementary school boy, the same year another Ghanaian soccer legend Robert Mensah went into glory. That year Asante Kotoko, my idol club was defending the African Champions cup they won the previous year. Accra Great Olympics with Sir John as their captain won the league in Ghana and was representing Ghana in the African Champions league too. Both Ghanaian clubs got to the semi-final stage, and were paired at that stage of the competition. My best memory of him was not as a coach, but as a soccer maestro leading his troops Great Olympics on the war path against Asante Kotoko. As a small school boy, he put fear in me and many Kotoko supporters. He was a master schemer and tactician on the field. Indeed, a doyen of Ghana sports has fallen. Please, if anybody has a picture of him in his youth, and playing days, can you post it for the sake of Ghanaians in the diaspora. We will like to remember him as such.
Fare thee well, Sir John. May your soul rest in perfect peace. YES SIR, SIR JONES!!!!! REAL GHANA LEGEND. WE MOURN YOUR PASSING!!!!!.

Larry, what was the score between the 2 teams? and who advanced to the finals, could you share more information, though I remember the situation.

If I can remember correctly, I think Kotoko won by a lone goal. I know Kotoko advanced to the finals, but lost in the finals that year.
