There must be a private police or millitry unit that monitor all police activities in the country. This body must have a complain unit to receive information. They must have powers to prosecute.

In Collins Dauda, a minister of state can pay bribe to the MTTU who am I to refuse paying? They always demand and I pay. A police girl friend told me all personnel who have opportunity to go on the road contribute to a fund. A third goes to the district commander; a third from all the districts in the region goes to the regional commander and a third of all the regions goes to national.

Sometimes its very disgusting to hear such news. Most humans because of their mentality to make quick wealth abuse others related to the positions they attain and most of the ghana police service personnel are never an exception to such. And today if such issue has pop up again then there should be a clear look at what constitute for such corrupt act.
Let me draw attention to the main topic. Drivers are indeed suffering under the umbrella of the police service especially the mttu division. They take money from them instead of monitoring and ensuring that all tihings are in order. See there have been several occasions where I have been an eye witness. Somewhere last week, just recently I made a journey to swedru and by reaching a police barrier our driver out of frustration said "today di3 I will put 2ghc and see if they will take" with all passengers sighting the police man realize that he wasn't convinced and out of authority instructed the driver out. Delayed us for about 15 minutes when later the driver came in to change the 2ghc to 5ghc and after the change we were allowed to move on.
But in conclusion I deeply blame the drivers as well simply because they act as if they never no their right as citizens of the land.
Ghana police change the system to suit as all.

That is true the mttu has seriousely damage the gh police image. They should be thought to advice motorist in some cases rather than arrest. The cedi is not perfect in value so things follow suit, old cars on our roads.
