NDC group accuses Anyidoho of defaming Mahama

A pressure group, Volta Freedom Fighters, has slammed the deputy General-Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho, accusing him of attempts to “discredit the Mahama-led government”.

The group, comprising activists of the governing NDC said Anyidoho’s recent media altercations against appointees such as the Communication Minister, Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah, government communicator, Sam George, National Organiser of the NDC, Kofi Adams among others, is indicative of his “clear agenda to drag the NDC administration led by John Mahama into opposition.”

Addressing a press conference in Ho Thursday, Secretary of the group, Sampson Kudzo Ayitey also accused the NDC’s deputy secretary of using a private newspaper, ‘The Informer’ to attack and denigrate the former Chief of Staff, Mr. Prosper Bani, resulting in his removal from office.

“In his failure to attack president Mahama directly, Koku found pleasure to reduce the former chief of Staff into a punching bag using the Informer newspaper. His attack on the appointees and friends of his Excellency the President is purely a demonstration of continuous hatred by Koku towards President Mahama,” Ayitey said.

The group has therefore urged "elders of NDC in the Volta region and the party’s National Executive committee to call Mr. Anyidoho to order, by impressing on him to stop the vicious anti-John Mahama campaign and the cruelty of insults against appointees and friends of the President.”
