Ghana is not an autocracy but a democracy, and no section of the community can opt out of the constitution and laws of the country to practice their own petty sharia laws or whatever. It is that kind of practice that has led to Boko Haram in Nigeria where the north behaves like it is a country apart. We won't accept that kind of nonsense here in Ghana. We have come a long way from theocracy and monarchies and we aren't going back to them. No caveman's laws in the 21st century. It is anachronistic and barbaric to lash a pregnant widow 100 lashes in this age. The funny thing is the man she has been sleeping with was not going to be part of the punishment. How come?

All the problems Africa now has originated from Arab terrorism within Africa that dates back to the 640s AD in Egypt. After the Christians in Byzatine Egypt, who were descendants of Syrians and Palestinians brought into Egypt to prop up the Christian cult at the time, handed the country to the Arab Moslems who were their brothers. After the Arabs Moslems tookover Egypt, they set about suppressing the non-Moslem black African population that refused to be dictated to by people who used to be their servants. The Africans intensified their resistance struggle which they had being waging against the Greeks and later the Romans and now against the Arabs in Egypt from Nubia. The Arabs invaded Nubia twice in quick succession but they could not take it.

In Egypt, the Be-dja and the Nu-bi-ta had intensified the struggle against the Arabs. To stop the resistance struggle, which they were losing, the Arabs brought in Morrocan and Turkish mercenaries who murdered many non-Moslems who were black Africans still following their own religion, seized their temples, homes and lands. As the resistance against Islam intensified, the Moslem authorities set fire to non-Moslem Arab areas in Cairo. Meanwhile, the Arabs Moslems did not venture into Nubia again until after 600 years. When they went back, they used covert action by marrying into the royal families and getting their children to declare their kingdoms as Moslem states. That was how Nubia and the Kordofan became Islamic. It is a trick they used in ancient Egypt in the New Kingdom to takeover the north for a while. By the 8th Century, the Arabs had followed the blacks who left Egypt into the Lake Chad area of Central Africa and West Africa. The first kingdom they attacked was Kanemi.

They used a proxy who disposed of the Ma-yi 'king' and declared Jihad on their neighbours if they refused Isalm. In the Sokoto area of now northern Nigeria, the Ahusa states walled their towns to prevent the Islamist from taking over , little did they know that Utman Danfodio would come several centuries after and hand their area to Islam on a silver platter in the same od so-called, social justice by waging relentless jihad against his own people. Later, the Arabs and their proxies in Morocco and the Fulani traitors in our mist would attack Wagadu (Ghana)because they refused to be Moslems and make it an Islamic kingdom. Later on, the Moslems would like to tell us that Ghana was originally started and developed by Moslems? Let them tell us the meaning of Wa-ga-du and even Ghana. That was how we ended up with the quick succession of the Songhai and Mali empires. In all these attacks, the Moslem Arabs and their proxies seized hundreds of thousands, probably millions, of blacks from the Soudan (Sahel) back to North Africa and the Middle East and enslaved them. At the same time, they suppressed their own native blacks and ethnically cleansed the north of black Africans. It has been sugested that the men were probably castrated to prevent them from producing children.

If you look at North Africa, it is hard to find pure blacks there. As much as one would expect that the black would have been assimilated due to the admixture that resulted from the huge inflows of Arabs into the area, it is difficult to see why it is all so Arabic. Even in Greece, we still find signs of the black blood left there several thousands years ago by the ancient Egyptians when Sosetris' army invaded there. But in North Africa which used to be black land, we hardly see blacks. So the idea being propagated by misguided Moslems in Ghana, that somehow, Islam is a peaceful religion, is all charage. These claims are made by African Moslems completely oblivious to the atrocities committed against their own ancestors by the the Arabs who until their takeover of Egypt in the 640s were just desert dwellers on the fringes of Africa. But why should we expect African Moslems to know this; after all, their religion teaches them that they were nothing until they were saved by Islam. What a joke! The evidence in Africa since the 640s completely debunks the Moslem assertion that they are peaceful. Look at Sudan and Somalia.

These two countries, like most Islamic countries in Africa, cannot even trace their history beyond the introduction of Islam in their countries. But how can people who live in Punt/Nete now called Somalia and Nubia, now located mainly in Sudan accept that their history only began with Islam when it began more than 7,000years before if they have not been all brainwashed? Look at what is happening in Nigeria. The Arabs, since 640s AD had been ethnically clensing North Africa of its native black populationa. They terrorised the Sahel for atleast 300years. Ironically, it was the coming of the Europeans in the 15th Century with better weapons that stopped the Moslem terrorism and slavery in Africa which created wars and huge movements of people and suspicion between neighbours, because if you failed to acquire weapons to attack your neighbour, seize him and enslave him, either he would do it or the Arabs nd their proxies, the Fulani would do it. Blacks need to read this history and stop regarding the Arab Moslems as some peaceful people.

They are only peaceful to you if you accept their religion. Anything else won't wash. It is clear in their history. They were the ones that introduced slavery into West and Central Africa and they were the promoters of it during the Transatlantic Slave Trade. They may be trying to colonialise Africa by stealth. We should not forget that when they could not beat the Nubians, they waited and waited for 600years and eventually, took them over through simple marriage just as they waited for 3,000 years to takeover Egypt. The blacks must realise, that the only place left for us is the Atlantic Ocean. We cannot go in there. We need to protect our national interest and stop behaving like children.

Slavery is as old as the world, but I agree that doesn't make it right. In the times of the colonisation it was good business for Europeans and Africans alike. And judging from the large amounts of illegal African immigrants trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea nowadays, I'm guessing many would volunteer for a life of slavery today rather than growing hungry in their own county. Slaves were a valuable working force, but the industrial revolution made them obsolete.

Ghanaian be vigilant, for there are some of our Muslim citizens who believe they are free to impose Islamic law and mores on the people of Ghana. They must be told that the ONLY criminal law applicable in Ghana is the laws of Ghana not Sharia. Civil disputes and such matters can be settled under customary law but never CRIMINAL. Fornication, infidelity, adultery etc. are currently not criminalized under the Republic of Ghana Statutes so ANY Muslim cleric trying to do otherwise should be charged for illegal arrest, and assault.

Assuming she was say, a week's pregnant before her husband died, it would be difficult to establish if the woman is pregnant. Four months and ten days is ample time to know if a woman is pregnant through a pregnancy test medically or by simply observing the apparent changes in her. What I want to know or establish here is whether the Islamic clerics have found out if the widow's pregnancy belongs to her late husband. What have the Imams done to clarify that. please, find out if the woman was made pregnant by her late husband. Let's avoid all these suspicions. I have been a widow before and we should be careful when dealing with such sensitive issues. Please read my article on "Widowhood in Islam" which i wrote when I was observing my own widowhood rites. Am saying this because, we Muslims belief that, if a woman loss her husband, she is suppose to go through the Iddah or the Takkab for 4 Months 2 weeks. The rational behind this ritual is to find out whether when she was pregnant with the deceased husband or not, if after the four months, and two weeks, she exhibits sign of pregnancy, then is for the late husband and not from outside. Alternatively, after the four months,2 weeks takaba period, and there is no any sign of pregnancy, and later gets it in the late husbands room, we can conclude that, she has had sex with an outside. In conclusion, i would have like the community not to rush but wait for period to end before they will draw conclusion whether she had sex with a boy friend. Thank you

Is Islamic law recognized by the 1992 constitution? If not then this mallam or clerics should be arrested if they their dare carry out this act. But if the constitution does recognize Islamic law then the only thing we have to ensure is that due process was followed in pronouncing this sentence. We as a nation should move towards debating facts and avoid insults and insinuations if we wish to see our country grow.

My personal opinion, Sharia is totally wrong but the constitution is what we agreed to be governed by and not my personal opinion or that of any other person, or group of people.

The Imams could go to braces! Let them show us where and how God appointed them to be Imam's, in the first place.

The widow did not cheat on the late Husband before his death. And she has not sold her life to Islam to be so brutally punished for any sins she might have committed.

Any Religion that cannot administer forgiveness and defer punishment for sinning to God is suspect. One may argue about the right of States to inflict Jail terms or Capital Punishment on guilty offenders. Well, those acts that go to the secular Courts hurt other individuals or the Society in provable ways.

In this case of breaching widowhood rites, who does the widow's behavior hurt? And in what way?

What if the Pregnancy she is carrying is adversely affected by the canning? Could the Imams who do the beating then be taken to Court for having hurt the baby?

It says in Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah (20/421): The woman whose husband dies must observe ‘iddah for four months and ten days if she is not pregnant. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And those of you who die and leave wives behind them, they (the wives) shall wait (as regards their marriage) for four months and ten days”. That starts from the date of death. If a woman deliberately does not observe mourning then she is sinning, and she has to repent and seek forgiveness. End quote
This is what the Clerics in the community including the Deputy Chief Imam at Akyem Tafo Mallam Madhi are over looking.Muslams, they have forgotten that Muslims worship Allah but not laws.

While they worshipped 360 gods at the Kabah in Mecca, the moon-god was the chief deity. Mecca was in fact built as a shrine for the moon-god. This is what made it the most sacred site of Arabian paganism.

The moon-god was called al-ilah, the god, which was shortened to Allah in pre-Islamic times. The pagan Arabs even used Allah in the names they gave to their children. For example, both Muhammad's father and uncle has Allah as part of their names. The fact that they were given such names by their parents proves that Allah was the title for the moon-god even in Muhammad's day.

Muhammad was raised in the religion of the moon-god Allah. But he went one step further than his fellow pagan Arabs. While they believed that Allah the moon-god was the greatest of all gods and the supreme deity in the pantheon of deities,Muhammad decided that Allah was not only the greatest god but the only God.

This is seen from the fact that the first point of the Muslim creed is not "Allah is great" but "Allah is the greatest" - he is the greatest among the gods. Why would Muhammad say that Allah is the greatest except in a polytheistic (many gods) context? The Arabic word is used to contrast the greater from the lesser.

That this is true is seen from the fact that the pagan Arabs never accused Muhammad of preaching a different Allah than the one they already worshipped. Thus "Allah" was the moon-god according to the archaeological evidence. History proves conclusively that before Islam came into existence, the Sabbeans in Arabia worshipped the moon-god Allah who was married to the sun-goddess. We have also seen that it was a matter of common practice to use the name of the moon-god in personal names in Muhammad's tribe. That Allah was a pagan deity in pre-Islamic times is incontestible. And so we must ask ourselves the question: why was Muhammad's God named after a pagan deity in his own tribe?
It is an undeniable fact that an Allah idol was set up at the Kabah along with all the other idols of the time. The pagans prayed towards Mecca and the Kabah because that is where their gods were stationed. It made sense to them to face in the direction of their god and pray since that is where he was. Since the idol of their moon god, Allah, was at Mecca, they prayed towards Mecca.

As we have seen, and as is acknowledged amongst all scholars of Middle Eastern religious history, the worship of the moon-god extended far beyond Allah-worship in Arabia. The entire fertile crescent was involved in moon-worship. The data falls neatly in place and we are able therefore to understand, in part, the early success Islam had amongst Arab groups that had traditionally worshipped Allah, the moon-god. We can also understand that the use of the crescent moon as the symbol of Islam, and which appears on dozens of flags of Islamic nations in Asia and Africa, and surmounts minerets and mosque roofs, is a throwback to the days when Allah was worshipped as the moon-god in Mecca.

Is it any wonder that the symbol of Islam is the crescent moon? That a crescent moon sits on top of their mosques and minarets? That a crescent is found on the flags of Islamic nations? That the Muslims fast during the month which begins and ends with the appearance of the crescent moon in the sky?
