The questions why would a formerly oppressed group of black people turn on their brothers and sisters from other parts of the continent. Are Africans the only foreigners in the South Africa? The fact is South Africa opted for an economic and political system that never addressed the periods of apartheid and economic justice. It is a tragedy. This is Mandela's legacy. Instead of correcting the historical legacy of injustice, he and his ANC opted for a system which allowed economic apartheid to continue. The same system shunned the political ideology of solidarity with the rest of Africa. South Africans have been brainwashed to think that just because they have a far more modern economy than their counterparts in Africa, they are better than the rest of the continent. So instead of focusing on the white oppressors, they misdirect their frustration and anger at other Africans. Black xenophobia is really tragic. Some of you will be surprised how many black americans have the same sentiments about foreigners as those white redneck of the republican party. Black people can be clueless sometimes.

Jacob Zuma is busily marrying more wives and expanding his harem of concubines instead of addressing the unemployment and poverty levels of his country, and the nativists are blaming foreigners for their woes, a classic case of self-denial and grand delusion steeped in primitiveness and a typical basket case of failed leadership littered across the African continent where political demagoguery becomes seemingly a safe and convenient way out for such failed policies and programs of the executive working in concert with the traditional authorities.
