If a nation will develope and succeed, it depends on it's judicary to deliver fair justice and provide HONEST punishment to those who have wronged the people and get justice for victims. If you have ever been to a court in Ghana, you can tell when money has changed hands because the judge becomes uneasy when he or she is pronouncing their verdict. Some of the judgements are so bad that other legal brains in court room gasp in shocK. BUT this is Ghana and no one like the truth.

I think Emile Shorts is reacting thus because he finds his big ego bruised by such bold allegations by both Atuguba and the C.J.
If Ghanaians were to choose between Emile Shorts and the two who to believe more, I am very sure they would choose the two.
It seems like Emile Shorts is once again daring those questioning the integrity of the Judiciary to prove their case or simply shut up.
He is one of those legal personnel who often ignores the obvious truth that may not be immediately provable with physical evidence. Such are those who think they are always wiser than the rest of us to claim the absence of a crime simply based on lack of immediate proof. Well, there are many crimes that go unprosecuted not because the crime was not committed but that the culprit had not been found. Then, again, there are the crimes that the culprits do well to hide the evidence and bluff others to prove their guilt. In the case of the latter, eventually, the case could be proven by circumstantial evidence.
So, we must tell Emile Shorts that we are not that stupid and Atuguba and the C. J. know all about the proving of cases based on evidence, and yet chose to make those allegations. It can therefore be reasonably inferred that the two Senior Judges making the allegations are relying not so much on immediate physical evidence but on reasonable circumstantial evidence.
When Ghanaians go to Court to witness how a Judge dubious set an offender free based on some bogus technicalities, they may not have the immediate physical proof of the Judge's possible misconduct. But the very fact that a clear winnable case by the prosecution would be thrown out speaks for itself.
Emile Shorts insults us all by taking that stance that so long as we cannot supply physical evidence of corruption, there are no corruption perpetrated, while the ultimate end of a case obviously indicates the absence of Justice.
What then would Emile attribute that absence of Justice to? Incompetence? When someone gets killed but we cannot prove exactly who killed that person, that does not mean the victim is not murdered. Now, it is one thing proving who the perpetrator of the Murder is, and another, that the Murder is committed.
If the Law Enforcement folks do their jobs by apprehending criminals they have substantial evidence to pin to crime, and the Courts consistently find ways to let the culprits off the hook, who do we have to blame for any perceived corruption in failing to get the criminals punished?
The Attorney-General's Office has a horrible record of bungling cases with claims of lost evidential documents upon which the Judges hurriedly dismiss the cases concerned, instead of requesting that the evidence be found. What then should we make out of that?
Let us then defer our quest for curbing corruption to Emile Shorts. Could he then prescribe any fool-proof, effective measures to stop the corruption around us, or he does not see any?
This reminds of the remark by USA Supreme Court Judge Potter Stewart, regarding porno that he would know it if he saw it, even though he could not have words to describe it.
So, Emile Shorts, Atuguba and the C. J. want you to know that they may not have the exact enunciation of names and specific Corruption crimes linked to prove the existence of corruption among your Colleagues, but they know the existence of corruption among them when they see it.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Why is it that anytime something affects NPP and its cohorts, they want to turn it, why? When Dr. Anane used Ghana's dues to pay for his child support, the NPP gov't said bring proof. When corruption was being kept under the carpet including NPP national chairman's allegation that Kuffour is collecting the 10% shares at the castle depriving the party of financial resources, NPP gov't said bring proof. Is Emile Short living in an Utopian country or what? Who can come out to mention names in such a manner? I have had a case since 1998 but every High Court judge has refused to pronounce judgment because of bribery. What proof again, Emile Short? Or your brain is dwindling with age? Nobody can fool us on this including NPP propagandaists. Ghanaians know better than those liars trying to defend the corrupt judiciary. Most of the judicial staff support NPP hence, the noise.

This is a case in which the Ghana Health Service dismissed a brother of mine through an indefinite suspension in December 2012.The antecedent events that led to the conspiracy by the Ghana Health Service against my brother was a corruption scandal in Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital that led to the death of a teenager by name Patients Sakpetey who could not offer a bribe of 50 Ghana Cedis for blood transfusion services though by law blood is not supposed to be sold in hospitals. This unfortunate incident received wide media publicity following a news paper publication. The Medical Director of Effia Nkwanta Dr Paul K Ntodi falsely accused my brother who was the emergency doctor on duty who attended to the deceased of conspiring with the media to tarnish the hospital's image and vowed to get him sacked.Actually he wrongly sacked my brother at the level of the hospital when a new duty time table excluded his name without assigning him to any unit. This compelled my brother to write to CHRAJ,western region narrating series of atrocities the Medical Director subjected him to in an attempt to previously force him out of the hospital. My brother also stated in his letter to CHRAJ how Dr Ntodi conspired with the then Regional Director Linda Vanotoo, his HOD Richard Anthony to force him to have a psychiatric assessment on pretext of a mental illness just because he was vocal against corrupt acts in that hospital. He also stated in his letter how he was not copied the report of his mental status kept away from him whiles atrocities against him by the MD continued.CHRAJ in western region asked for a response from Dr Ntodi to my brother's letter.Eventually my brother won his case against the hospital with the MD and his management compelled to reinstate my brother who was then transferred to a different unit that is Department of Internal Medicine to work under Richard Anthony from the emergency unit.Dr Ntodi was also compelled by CHRAJ to produce a copy of my brother's Mental Report for collection personally handed to him by the Regional Commissioner/Director.Dr Ntodi was extremely angry at the development and vowed to get my brother sacked from the Ghana Health Service if he does not leave the hospital.According to one management member,Dr Ntodi had said he is a 'westerner' referring to his native tribe wassa and will not allow a northerner from nowhere to disturb him in the hospital. His threats became real when a letter through his machination with the help of the Regional Director of Health Linda Vanotoo ,also a native signed by the Chief Psychiatrist Dr Akwasi Osei requested for further psychiatry assessment on my brother by a medical board at the instance of the chief psychiatrist. The letter was handed over to him in Accra by Richard Anthony his HOD who threatened my brother will be sacked never to be reinstated if he does not comply with the orders of the letter in a white envelope. It was an obvious conspiracy at falsely implicating my brother with a mental illness to pave way for his dismissal. My brother wisely decline the invitation citing instances of atrocities against him by the Medical Director such as withholding promotions and salary arrears due him, refusing to pay him his allowances at the hospital. My brother also cited a report by the Human resource Director GHS of re-posting him back to the region for further investigations to be conducted accusing the region of lapses in their report following a confrontation with a nurse which the Regional Health Directorate was relying on as justification of their claim of my brother suffering from a mental illness. My brother cited the final psychiatric report that cleared him of any mental illness but subsequently charged the hospital management to be fair in their dealings with my brother devoid of prejudice and malice in his letter to the GHS.He cited how this letter was wrongly kept away from him whiles atrocities continued against him until intervention by CHRAJ.The Ghana Health Service ignored all these and went ahead to suspend my brother indefinitely without salary claiming he was suffering from what they termed 'possible delusional disorder' without evidence as my brother never presented himself to the Medical Board. In fact it vindicated my brother's suspicion of victimization had he presented himself. The GHS ignored a letter from the National Labour Commission requesting explanation from the MD of the hospital following written complaints by my brother of violation of his labour rights. My brother was technically dismissed by one Dr Ebenezah Appiah Denkyira, the new Director General,Ghana Health Service in less than a month of assuming office without any audience. He evaded my brother throughout when he personally made an effort to meet him with one thing in mind;to get rid of him.My brother had his dismissed letter they cunningly termed indefinite suspension directly copied to then Health Minister Alban Bagbin.More was to follow depicting the injustice and the effectiveness of Ghana's Justice system in this Country when he took his case to court.Whiles my brother suffered two assassination attempts following the suit, compelling him to write to police headquarters for police inquiry with a loud silence from them ,he was also the victim of frustration and abuse at the Fast Track High Court in an attempt to gag up the case in favor of high profile public servants/politicians.A number of occasions he was even told his docket could not be traced and he had persist to have the docket retrieved. The first lawyer on the case Lawyer Isaac Adu took a very funny and unprofessional attitude towards the case. The case was never heard and he never appeared in an open court apart from a clandestine meeting with a female judge behind closed doors whom he told my brother was the judge to handle the case. In that funny and suspicious court with only the judge, her secretary, lawyer Isaac Adu and my brother in attendance the judge dismissed the writ as wrongly prepared and advised Lawyer Isaac Adu to make the necessary corrections. That was to be the end.Lawyer isaac Adu started frustrating my brother by evading him in person and avoiding his calls to the extent of leaving his old chambers at Mamobi/Nima to a new location without my brother's knowledge. We only got to know his location by allowing a lady to call him who feign as a client requiring his services. My brother was to be a symbol of victim of the corruption machinery for his anti-corruption stance in this country when he finally met Lawyer Isaac Adu.Lawyer Isaac Adu boldly told my brother that authority in Ghana Health Service told him my brother was 'loud mouth' and they are happy to have gotten him now before handing over his file to him. This is a Lawyer my brother hired and paid for his services without a job and salary and have to sell properties to defray cost.He did not only extort him but also insulted him in solidarity with my brother's opponents ,the Ghana Health Service in a conspiracy to jeopardize his case.As a result of frustration,my brother wrote to the office of the Chief Justice narrating his predicament. He personally took his letter there and was met with the fiercest of resistance when he was deliberately heckled and insulted by a security man at the entrance of the CJ's Office to prevent him from submitting the letter. It took the intervention of a policeman at the CJ's Office to calm things as my brother was determined to submit the letter. The policeman ushered in my brother who gave the letter to the CJ's Secretary. The follow up was hell for my brother as he often will not be allowed in and as to whether the CJ even saw the letter is another thing naturally killing off his effort on the quit in all efforts to suppress his case.Thankfully through heightened perseverance, the case is still pending since 2012 to fight the grave injustice against my brother just because he stood for the right thing in line with his professional duties. My brother naturally have to hire and pay another lawyer to continue his case. The case is currently at the Human Rights Court with suit number HRC/35/15 still slowly dragging on with the outcome uncertain despite my brother being an obvious victim of a wicked grand conspiracy by powers that be because they think he is a threat to the pervasive and endemic corruption in Ghana Health Service who they have to get rid of.

What do you call a sitting president, President Kufour, selling national lands in the dark of night (since Kufour did not seek approval from the parliament or counsel from his then Attorney General, Nana Akufo-Addo) to the one Chief Justice of the Ghana Supreme Court, Ms. Georgina Woods, who was herself appointed by the president? What do you call sentencing of street level criminals to lengthy prison terms but the offering of minimal sentences on those who engage in white color crimes that hurt more Ghanaians than the number of people affected by street level crimes? How about judges who continue to grant bail to accused persons with means, connections and wherewithal to potentially escape from Ghana while poor offending suspects are made to languish in our jail houses? What do you call those judges who rendered decisions against government in some of the judgment debt cases at lower courts since we now know they should have known what constitute a contract at that government level?

Corruption 'creeping' into the judiciary service? It is a practice of great antiquity. The cogent reason many aggrieved parties do not seek redress at the law courts and take the law into their own hands and undermine the rule of law.
It is the disappointing performances of the judicial service which has created the erroneous impression that we need the military to fight corruption by public servants. No,no!
It is the lack of dependable law enforcement backed by a committed judiciary with honesty and integrity as torch bearers.A military government run by disgruntled academicians so envious of politicians can never be a substitute for selfless law enforcement and an enviable judiciary.
We have the priceless opportunity to make Ghana happy by a change of heart for the better.
