Looking at the per capita income of Ghana the fees charged by law firms is rather inordinate. The government must step in to subsidize such fees.

ITEM: Looks like what Nduom is saying is that Ghanaian lawyers (and the GBA) do not practice social responsibility.
So, maybe they can start by doing a review of their fees and reducing them for the many who can't afford their "rather inordinate" fees and charges, but need the services of a professional lawyer.

ITEM: GBA wants to interject lawyers into the sale of every parcel of land in Ghana.
But the same GBA has no interest in fighting for a re-do of the wart-infested Ghanaian Constitution.
Nor is the GBA interested in supporting the fight for the Freedom of Information Bill, or Asset Declaration, for that matter.
Or prison reform!
Or sentencing reform!
Further, in the recent discourse about religion in public schools, the Ghana Bar Association has officially been missing in action. Sadly, the few lawyers we've heard from seem to have no clue how the Constitution of Ghana is related to the entire situation. These are lawyers you do not seem to know the difference between what is a public domain matter, and what is a private matter.
The pity is, even many Ghanaian nationals practicing law in other countries are as confused about all these issues. Or, maybe they like to serve themselves. These individuals, all of the men, do not stand for anything worth Nkrumah's Ghana.
But they prefer to talk big and loud, oblivious of the histories!
What is a good lawyer, by Nduom's definition?
"Big names"?
"compel the two political parties... since 1992 to implement the Free, Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) policy as enshrined in the constitution?
Do big name Ghana lawyers have time?
Do big name lawyers even speak/write about those matters?

We need lawyers to stand up and work for everybody's benefit and in the national interest, not just for partisan and individual benefit.

Ghanaian Lawyers, stereotypically, only care for their pockets and fame. And not for the real purpose of their calling.
They hardly do anything to help decrease poverty in Ghana. Left to majority of them, I believe, they would rather keep the vast class differences that exist in their favor. No Lawyer would accept being poor in Ghana, but almost all embrace the steep gap between the poor and the wealthy.
It is ironic, because one would hope that the Lawyers would be happier to see most Ghanaians become successful so that fees the latter charge could be paid to make them richer. But there seems to be a conflicting set of desires the Lawyers have. One is their wish for some exclusive right to elitism, and the other is their wish for richer clients who would pay big fees to make them wealthy.
