KNUST failed to rusticate and report to the police a female student who beat up her roommate; the lecturers have been bought. It has been said that many lecturers lack teaching methodologies. What should be the minimum requirement in recruiting lecturers into a tertiary institution? Is it a masters degree or a PhD with a course in education??
Professors in tertiary institutions must read GES directives. There are many important and useful GES directives which would help them.
GES banned all forms of corporal punishment in Educational institutions but there are reports that some tertiary institutions are still carrying out this practice. Asking students to kneel down and so on.
Lecturers in tertiary institutions must recognize the fact that students in these institution are adults.

WAEC must make good use of technology, by using CCTV cameras in their exam halls, to minimise exam malpractices.

My broda@Agbee, I think you have been away for a long time and have lost reality about conditions in WAEC participating countries.Let me bring you to realiy. As we speak WAEC has not been able to institute and ensure a standard set of guidelines governing the setup of examination rooms. Some schools even lack furniture and thus have to allow students to take exams at two different times. With the prevalence of cell phones cameras the integrity of these exams are very seriously at risk.Dress code for student is becoming an issue. They are yielding to pressure to allow hijab (female muslim students to cover head and face). With this too you v can see how that is going to impact the integrity of the exams.WAEC is a joke, just like the education of African kids.

My dear Okukuseku, don't waste your breath on GNA reporting: it is part of their culture to make such horrible, elementary errors. Just leave them and try to understand or imagine what they really mean.

For the past few years, the best WASSCE results have been from Ghanaian students and yet Ghana has few higher institutions compared to Nigeria even with respect to population proportions.

I am successfully working with a respectable testing company in the US and I occupy a very excellent position. I know a lot about testing and I am willing to offer my services to WAEC as my Sankofa pledge to my motherland.

I have been trying to get some results confirmation from WAEC. Waec tells me to go to my old secondary school. Old secondary cannot find the old resiluts slips. Infomartion I hve indicates the result slips are in sacks, sitting somewhere in their offices , but they are not able to trace becasue either the bags are not well labbelled or too many for staff to go through or both. They forget you paid for the exams and should provide you with results whenever you need them. Instead of scanning old results into files for easy recall, nobody seems to have enough wisdom to get this done.
Clearly, this is very shameful and needs to change urgently.
