Even when dumsor is resolved, it will take at least, three to six months for any results to be felt through the economy. If dumsor is ended by June 2015, any improvement may not occur in 2015.

All complaints are clearly falling on deaf ears. Nobody is bothered to do anything. Corruption is rampant and then on a Sunday they go to church to ask for forgiveness for the corrupt acts committed during the week.

The same empty promises.A lack of understanding of the country's predicaments.Until we learn to comprehend the functioning of the Forex market and provide the correct antidotes,the Cedi will continue to depreciate out of range.
There is a direct correlation between the value of every currency and its underlying economy such that the stronger an economy,the stronger its currency and vice versa.
The explanation being that as an economy shows signs of improvement, foreign investors, especially, become enthused and purchase the local currency,exchanging their own currencies for the destination one.This heightened demand,ceteris paribus,will push up the exchange rate of the receiving currency.Meaning fewer of the destination currency will be exchanged for more of the investors foreign currencies.
The opposite holds true.As an economy weakens,investors will dump the local currency in exchange for other stronger currencies and disinvest.
Relating the above analysis to a currency pair like the USD/Ghc,when the US economy is growing,the USD becomes stronger,meaning more Cedis will be required to purchase one unit of USD.The strength of the USD emanating from investment interest generated consequent to improving US economic indexes.Hence the USD1.00/Ghc4.00.It will get worse should the FED increase its policy rate and pave the way for a stronger USD.
So not considering import pressures and other destabilizing factors,the Cedi will lose value to the dollar because currency pairs are inversely proportional.They move in opposite directions.Especially when the economy of Ghana is greatly in shambles.
Adding the indexation dilemma,the affinity to import everything including toothpicks,the borderline foreign exchange reserves/reduced export prices for cocoa beans,crude oil and gold and pressure and taunting from the growing economies of our trading partners,the Government and the Bank of Ghana should gear up for severe headache from a hallucinated Cedi.
When some of the proceeds of the bond and cocoa loan were utilized on the Forex market to stabilize the ailing Cedi,i commented that it was COSMETIC and ephemeral.Yeah,we have lived to fight another day for running away from the reality.
The IMF $114m SoS to the Bank of Ghana for intervention on the Forex market whilst wholly inadequate is equally COSMETIC.We are just dressing the wound superficially,and not ascertaining the root cause of it.
What will happen to the Cedi when the $114m is used up?Another bond issue and cocoa loan or more IMF panhandling?
It is pertinent that we generate our own hard-earned foreign exchange through diversification of our exports and markets,and profitable cash money investment of our widow's mite from the crude oil exploration.While gold is marking time at $1216/ounce,crude has a little rally at $52.14, but it is expected to reduce further.
However,there is some hope in the horizon for cocoa beans($2800/tonne).
The government should be courageous and further slash the price of refined petroleum products to pass on some relieve to households and industry and bring down inflation and the high cost of living to encourage significant consumption of goods and services.
The NPA's arrogant posture is not helping the government either.I have the fervent hope that the envisaged deregulation(they are sounding like the NPP)of crude oil marketing will deprive the NPA of its price determination function leading to the free market determining prices.
