I am utterly fed up with this obsession with money by our medical doctors, generally, which finds expression in strikes that lead to lost of lives, the very thing they are expected to save. Is that how doctors in other countries behave? Ethical education is needed to make our doctors making us become orphans, childless. losing our relatives and people who are people who make Ghana Ghana.

So should Doctors not be paid their due? What they are demanding is what is due them so what is your problem? Are MPs and ministers who do nothing not paid and still ask for more? Be realistic.

A clear pattern of behaviour where state institutions fail to turn up in court to deliberately lose cases in the interest of this corrupt govt. Otherwise, why wouldn't the NLC defend its own decision

Learn from other countries. Teachers are paid by their school districts, not the federal government the same as the police. University professor's pay comes from tuition and other endowments.

Many Ghanaians do not pay taxes so where does the government get money for all these expenses?

Stop paying these people, stop stealing from the government coffers and see how the lives of Ghanaians will improve if the money is spent on infrastructure.

The solution is to stop the practice of guaranteed wholesale employment of graduating doctors into the public service.If allowed to seek employment avenues on their own like other equally important professionals, the tendency to govt to ransom will stop. Additionally, the smarter ones who can get jobs outside will also be free to do so. Sometimes, this excessive fear of losing Ghanaian doctors to other countries becomes counter productive as is precisely the case now. There is high labour mobility in all professions now. So The Ghana Health Service will certainly not be any worse off if Ghanaian doctors are allowed mobility within a free world. Nature abhors vaccum.If Dr. Nkrumah had not taken the unprecedented and bold decision to have our doctors trained locally, Ghana would probably have continued to have our doctors trained abroad at greater cost to economy to this day.It is said that‘nothing ventured, nothing gained.’
