They have a right to practise their religion, to make phone calls, write letters, see a doctor, earn money in prison, further their education in prison etc. In countries like Germany they are even allowed to television, dvd player and other devices in their rooms. There life imprisonment does also only mean an imprisonment charge of maximum 15 years. After good conduct they can be released as early as 8 years. So in the western world imprisonment is not all that hard.

Personally, I think any person incarcerated should be entitled to conjugal visits and not the right to sex during visitation. It has to be pointed to those who commit crimes and are tried, found guilty and sent to any term of imprisonment should know that they lose their right to almost everything with the exception of the right to live. Thus, it is the government responsibility to clothe, feed and give shelter to a prisoner. "Sex" is a privilege and not a right. Even, it is not a right for married couples because a partner can refuse his/her partner sex and there is nothing the other partner can do about it. So, extrapolating that to prisoners demand, it does not make any sense for law abiding people to even entertain such a discussion. Prisoners should be told without mincing no word that "sex" is a privilege and not a right and that anybody incarcerated loses that privilege.

There has been reports of contagious dieseases among the inmates which the prison officers contaminate and extend to their families. How much more allowing them to have sex ? Freedom and justice may allow them provided they are right.

This is nonsense. The only place this is allowed is Brazil and they get criticised for that. Part of the punishment is deny you some of your rights. Are we to make our prison officers supervisors and time keepers for sex?

Stealing from the government is not cool,because the entire nation are relying on the government for our basic needs, such as infrastructure. How can our leader Mahama keep up the roads and other stuff if a person like wayome goes unpunish? And what if wayome go to prison but still enjoy the rights just like living at home?
