It's a constituency satisfaction thing, and that's what the grassroots are saying. please see the bigger picture. What about its a male MP aspirant who has served the party so well and now wants to be elected? Do you quench this ambition because of affirmative action? That is dangerous for the party, and in fact, runs counter to democratic principles. that's all that the grassroots are saying.

Please I don't share your opinion that the NPP regard women as nonentities. By no means.As you can see there is agitation about this affirmative action stance being taken by the NPP at this critical point in time. I advise we all tone down in our outbursts and rather let more education go down for all to understand our positions in a very civil and non provocative manner.

  Your agenda and objective should be, get ye the political power first and all things shall be added unto thee.
  It easier to implement positive discrimination when in power than in government.
  We have seen that in developed governance and it works perfect.

  Nobody told any woman off or looked down on them, BUT the atmosphere spoke enough. Its a made dominated environment and women are not heard much!
  
  I have now left the NPP and joined the NDC.
  
  I am surprised that Ursula has just found this out.
  
  It is said that the current Minister of Foreign Affairs (woman), originally joined the NPP, but was told by the NPP big wigs, to go back to her village and start at "Assembly Man" level!
  
  If every politician had to go back to their village to start a political career, who will stay in the cities and urban areas to turn the wheels of developments. In politics, we make a deference where opportunity finds us.
  
  The famous British woman Prime Minister, Margaret Thacher came from Grattam in the heart of the UK, but found a seat in Finchley, North West London, where she worked hard to rise to the top job in politics. And yet our current Foreign Minister was asked to go back to her village if she wanted to start a career in politics!!!!
  
  That's the NPP for you!!!.
  
  This lady went to the NDC and worked hard and today she is a foreign minister, who presents our country to the world!!
  
  Ursula Owusu, wake up and smell the coffee!!
  
  Shout louder, find others to join you to shout louder because there is so much work to be done for women in politics in Ghana, especially, in the NPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
