  1) Did Woyome disclose this payment to the A-G during the trial? If not, then why now?
  
  2) Is this A-G not an NDC appointee, while Woyome is a self-styled NDC financier?
  
  3) Why couldn’t the prosecution "subpoena" Mrs. Mould Iddrisu and Barton Oduro? What the heck were they afraid of? Why display such a high level of ignorance of the law and incompetent prosecutorial skill? **KOOKOO ASE LAWYERS, INDEED!!
  
  4) Why WASTE state resources to re-trial this man after woefully failing the first time around?
  
  5) Doesn't the government of Ghana know that the many foreigners in the country, through their Embassies, businesses, and expatriates, are WATCHING our foolishness, ignorance, incompetency, corruption, etc., etc?
  
  6) Would the state prosecutors disclose to Ghanaians, "how much this trial cost" and how much will the possible appeal also cost the state? Why throw good money after bad, Negro?
  Honestly, many times I feel ASHAMED about what's going on in our country: corruption, laziness, over bloated size of government, mismanagement, national debt, incompetence, lawlessness, bad roads, hospitals, schools, economic hardships, unemployment, freak car accidents, Dumsor Dumsor, etc., etc.

  The former president alleged that those people fought for party positions just to protect themselves from a possible prosecution for their evil deeds.
  
  Mr. Rawlings who was reacting to the acquittal of business man Alfred Woyome stated that prosecution presented a poor case just to protect some people in government implicated in the case.
  
  Citing the involvement of former Attorney General, Betty Mould-Iddrisu in the Woyomegate scandal as an example, Mr. Rawlings questioned why she was left off the hook.
  
  "Woyome the thief is now a free man because some of our people who were involved in the thievery like Betty Mould and one other person were not produce in court for interrogation to provide vital information to jail him," he fumed.
  
  “When 40% of the corrupt people have lost their positions to enable us clean the party, 60% have now come in to protect themselves and we also vote them. Are we so stupid” he quizzed

You couch your words to cover the bigger picture by carving and sharing blame, for Christ's sake, Woyome clearly means the Attorney General did all the fraudulent papers that got him and NDC Syndicate GH51, and that she alone got $1 Million dollar equivalent in cedis.
  
  In that case, as revealed from the horse's own mouth, only Henrietta Brew knows the truth, but she cannot handle the truth like yourself and ndc sympathisers..

Again, if that was the case then, there was and still no conflict of interest on her part. I apologise to the AG for my first comment but she should have made it clear in her denial that the money was for her client.

This is a Simple case that could have been adjudicated rightfully by even a first year Law Student or a Paralegal for that matter with Sample Case Law.. As it stands, there is absolutely no way they can retrieve their monies and the Courts Should make that Clear to the Public Once and for all..You are right, Woyome did nothing wrong, Its the Judicial System the caused this, and they are the one to be held responsible not WOYOME...I have never heard anywhere when a case is tried and Damages awarded then 6yrs later the same case would be called back and said hold on a minute, We made a mistake here and we would want our money BACK, Woyome should get an international Court involved in this..

The wife of one of these Civil servants allegedly collected "her due"?
  
  In any case, another Attorney General who suspected that SONS and DAUGHTERS of Mother Ghana have connived with criminals to dupe the State, took the case up. But before the beans could be spilled, the said Attorney General, by name Martin Amidu, was sacked by the Asomdwoehene President, Atta-Mills.
  
  The Supreme Court ruled that Amidu was right, and that Woyome must refund the money.
  
  This recent case was to find out whether Mr Woyome used lies to deceive the first Judge, and thus illegally received that judgement debt.
  
  Well, when Woyome sued the State, these people who were supposed to have objected his claim, refused to fight for Ghana. (They must have their own reasons).
  In any case, the current State Attorney did not call those people who are suspected to PROBABLY have connived with the suspect, to come and bear witness.
  
  Judge Asset says, because those same people who claimed at the first instance that the 'State has no case' and thus refused to defend the State, were not called to bear witness for the State, he cannot find Woyome guilty. What if those people were his collaborators in crime?
  
  My question is:
  Is anybody who can bribe Civil Servants and/or Politicians to commit crime against the State "INNOCENT"?
  And no future "Vigilante" has a chance to defend the Nation in a Ghanaian High Court? if a few Civil Servants connive to commit crime?
  
  To me this is clearly a miscarriage of justice

  Bro, had this Woyome judgement debt scandal happened anywhere in the developed world too many heads in the NDC administration would have already visited the chopping block by now. State attorneys would have forced a lot of people to resign or face prosecution because they can run but can't hide. We are witnesses to one of the greatest state sponsored crimes of the Fourth Republic being "blessed" with the stamp of approval because in Ghana paper trails are non-existent. Even case dockets are known to walk away from "secured" court buildings and the accused walk free. The reasons why they continue to hold the freedom to information bill hostage in parliament for 8-10 years are more deliberate and personal than procedural and the same reasons why there is also foot dragging over the National Identification program. We hate transparency and love "darkness" more than "light" because dishonesty is not frowned upon in our society but rather an acceptable way of life for the vast majority of Ghanaians. Generally Ghanaians don't care a hoot how you make your wealth. The story is different in places like the US where millionaires and billionaires every now and then go to jail for fraudulent deals. Here, it's the end that justifies the means. We'll continue to wallow in poverty because we borrow too much money from overseas lenders but steal and misapply most of the loans. Until we introduce transparency in government and private business we should forget about transforming the national economy to raise the standard of living for all Ghanaians.
  There are too many people in government who are neck deep in this Woyome judgement debt scandal but I'm very certain nothing will come out of it. This is Ghana where b***s*** walks. In cases of the people versus the government the latter always wins.

  Note that he quoted $1m in GHC equivalent paid to a certain law firm. Why do we keep saying he was paid GHC 51m when we know that was equivalent to ~$63m when he was paid which is now ~GHC 223m. Think amount.

  He did not mean that he did not have a good case. Why would he say that about himself, saying "I have no case to answer" to mean "I am guilty. I defrauded the state"? Why would he say that?
  
  The judge was looking to hear the prosecution show evidence that Woyome was guilty.
  
  The prosecutors could not deliver, so the accused had to go free.
  
  That's how the justice system works in a democracy.

  FACT: She was employed by the legal chambers that represented Woyome. While the S1 million was paid to the legal chambers, she, as an employee, did benefit from the payment because her salary comes from the payments made by clients.
  
  FACT: She did work ON Woyome's defense while an employee of the legal chambers that defended Woyome. Declaring that she never worked for Woyome is academic as well as disingenuous.
  
  VERDICT: There was a conflict of interest. The AG should have RECUSED herself from the case!
  
  The AG should either resign or be removed by government.

I've never read any report of the man pointing a gun to anybody's head to be paid what was given him. Is it not a mockery that as a country, criminals and saboteurs like Ato Davies will be rewarded with no mean a post like a deputy speaker of a supposedly august parliament. Who are we kidding. In some other place this man would have done the honourable thing by retiring or being pushed out of politics in perpetual shame. His accomplice, Betty Mould Iddrisu is elected to party office. Really, is this how low we've descended as a people? That our judgement be so clouded in party colours that we are hell bent on defending what's pure evil against our country and our people?
  If the NDC as a party in government mean well for the populace as they claim, they will do well to dissociate themselves from these criminals in their mist. I rest my case

  Mrs Brew-Oppong(AG)claims she never worked(legal services) for Woyome.
  Before her appointment as the AG,She was on the Staff of a Practicing Firm (legal). Now let assumed that Woyome was a Client or hired the Service of the that Legal Practicing Firm.If so,it does still not follow that,the AG personally Benefited from Woyome, b'cos any amount accrued to her,if any,was Service Charges by the Firm ; even if She(AG) was a Practicing Partner of the Firm at the time. Therefore,unless Woyome throws more light on how the AG Benefited Gh 1Million from his(woyo 51 mill) scandal,the idea and his accusations against the AG is illogical and frivolous indeed !

  I would agree with you to a certain point. The point being, can it be proven that the source of the funds was derived from the judgement and the AG was a party to a part of that payment, sans benefit, it leads to conflict of interest on the AG's part.
  
  Now, if the payment was made after the AG left the firm, then it is not conflict of interest whether she benifitted dirctly, or indirectly. The conflict is in the area of did the AG cotinue to act upon a civil issue, not private to her, while she was the AG. If the AG accepted a payment in behalf of her old employer's client, then this is conflict of interest.

Because if the current AG who was then in private practice is alleged to ve received so much then there's more than what catches the eye. This can never be swept under the carpet at all, those who stand for the memory of late Atta Mills must do everything possible to clear his good name for what he did for them. They know them selfe, why is Betty not speaking? has she lost her loud voice.
