So how do we call this budget? Can they pay back the taxes waved on the citizens whilst we wait for the new budget? Please parliament should wake up a little. This is bad

This is what they have to do to keep the IMF monitors happy. Maybe they learn transparency over the next 3 years before the lie game starts again.
What a sorry state of a government.

Look, until the Mahama NDC gov't is sent packing at the ballot box in 2016, Ghana is going nowhere.

The IMF have taken control of economy once again as they did in the 80s when Kwesi Bitchway was Finance Minister. As it was in the 80s, you will see in this budget the removal of all government subsidies on gas, agriculture, education, health, and the trimming of the civil service (layoffs). You will also see increase in fees in government services - passports, drivers license, hospital fee, airport fee, excise duties, and all other services provided directly to the public by the government.
Salaries of civil servants and teachers, and other paid government employees are going to be capped or perhaps frozen. No doubt, this is an austerity budget and the government will have no say in it. This budget was conceived and delivered in the IMF office in probably New York or Washington, our Finance Minister will have no freaking say in it. He would stand in parliament and present it to our people with a straight face as if it is the government's brainchild. That is exactly what Kwesi Botchway did 15 years as Finance Minister.
Folks, fastened your seat belt, IMF is in town once again and they are about to unleash the most toughest conditionalities upon our people and promise things will get better after three years. If life is hard now, wait until the new budget hit the ground and manifest itself in the economy.
The question I keep asking is: how many times must we go to the IMF for bailout? Dr. Nkrumah rebuffed the IMF in 1964 and 1965 just before his overthrow. Dr. K.A. Busia invited them back in, and the first advice they gave to Busia is to devalue the cedi and that was the end of his government. Maybe what happened to Busia when he brought in the IMF would happen to this Mahama guy who seems to have lost his sense of direction and ability to govern, and it will be good riddance - his exit will be good for all of us.

You keep stealing money from your people and you turn around to go to development partners for money for your budget. Mr finance minister didn't you create variances in yoor budget to meet what is actual and possible shortages. Oh my God, is this the people in charge of Ghana's finances. And now you have to come back to paliament to present another budget. This guy is a bum, throw him out.

The figures in the original budget were inflated to make thinks look better. Thank God the IMF has warned John Mahama and the NDC that their propaganda has reached a wall.
Dr. Bawumia once again has been vindicated!
