Prof Aryeetey and other Vice Chancellors of state universities: Did you hear the appeal by PURC that govt should assist SMEs to IMPORT solar panels to help solve the dumsor problem? I wont support this BUY & SELL mentality where all we are interested in is to become 'Manufacturers Representatives' for evrythig, including catapult, handkerchief, office pin, etc. Dear Vice Chancellors what are the lecturers in your Electrical/electronic/Solar faculties doing? I am as old as Akufo Addo and during time I have not come across one single day that the sun did not shine in Ghana. So what are you people doing about haressing solar energy? Should we continue to exist as end users and consumers only? What do you and lecturers do with the Research Allowance? It is a shame that you should sit down for other universities (in countries where they worship the slightest sunlight they experience)to train their students ot manufacture solar panels while you IN THE MIDST OF SUNSHINE 7 DAYS/WEEK are only interestd in being labelled 'manufacturers representatives". VC's why? Even Rev. Prof Martey has thrown a challenge that he could solve dumsor in 3 months. Prof Aryeetey, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

A host of these loud-mouth 'academics', you are counting on,are nothing, but selfish bunch of 'double-dippers',only interested in taking monies from partisan civil society groups like the CDD and IEA,to churn out surveys reports of dubious quality,so as to make the administration look bad,in the eyes of the general public!
In the jurisdiction I live in,some of the 'projects' to address everyday problems, are done at the high school level, with remarkable results and impact on the community.

There is a place where you can be sure that you would find a representative (MP) from every part of Ghana year round gathered together to deliberate on the future and the current state of this country. Where is that? Parliament house of course. If there is such a place then how should the place and the people there be treated in the scheme of things? What priority should such a house be given in the governance of the country? If there is such a place then what kind of people should we send there and how should we assess their performance? The clerk of parliament must keep an accurate record of the representatives (MPs) who vote for or against a bill.
There is land for additional units of accommodation in Sakumono and this must be used well. The government must renovate all accommodation for parliamentarians in Sakumono.
