Now all Kayayes are teenagers at school going age who work under the most dehumanizing conditions and it will interest Ghanaians to know that all Kayayes are Muslims from the north. Why are Muslims not putting pressure on Prez Mahama,a northerner, to bundle all of them into the classroom up north, since education is free up over there, instead of fighting for a right in mission schools.

I can smell a very serious and disturbing ting called SEGREGATION IN PRIVATE MISSION SCHOOLS and a strong push by churches especially Christian churches to get their schools back if the SC s hasty and believe in the propaganda of these small section of the Moslem minority.
I do not see any need for Mission schools established under the strict codes and ethics of their faith would give into such petty rhetorics. What has served many people for a long time without argument and without forcing anybody to change their core believes, is not broken, and so cannot be fixed. Those who are aggrieved can easily opt out and go where they are comfortable. In any case public government schools has no such religious code of ethics, so why don't they go there? This suit is unnecessary and smacks of complicity from Muslim fanatics fanned by NDC

The onus is on the parent to instill religious discipline, not the school. Perhaps, the govt and these Islamic bodies must partner to build Islamic.schools.for their kids. This is Ghana, not Suadi Arabia or Iran. If you want to know whether Christians would be allowed to practice their religion in Muslim schools, go to Amass in Kumasi and other such schools to see for yourself. Catholics, Protestants etc. all observe their worship without hindrance... they just grab an empty classroom for their service in the evenings and on Sundays/Saturdays. This is what the so-called mission schools should be doing for Muslim students in those schools.

Does it give preference of dressing to Christians and that of Moslems?I guess if you are talking of freedom of association, you live in a country that practice one.So ,mind your utterances!!
In any case,nobody is at war or in contention with your belief,all we are saying is that this mission schools,which had being a hub of discipline since Ghana's independence will not bend the rules.If you want to practice religion instead of discipline go and build your mosque and attend to such and leave our schools alone.No one forced the government to take over mission schools or forced moslems to attend to this mission schools.

There is no need to refer this to the SC -- Mahama just chickened out and passed the buck. The Constitution is absolutely clear on religious rights and freedoms, and gives the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice all the powers it needs to deal with the current issue. Furthermore, the Constitutions gives Parliament the power to enact a law which will deal with this kind of situation -- all the government has to do is to draft and table a bill before parliament. No reasonable and fair-minded opposition MPs who have the interest of the nation at heart would reject such a bill. If they did, the government currently has the majority in the House and could get the bill passed. Mahama needs to be bold and exercise his Executive powers on this matter. We are supposed to be ruled by laws.
