Since when did the issue of prayer became an issue in Ghana's education? I went to school with many many muslims in preparatory school, St. Augustine's and Legon and never heard of any complaint. I attended all muslim occasions with my friends including the favorite 'Kyinewia' with no problem other my friends jovially calling me Kabonga. So since when did it dawned on anyone that, religion, school and the constitution should tell me or my friends what to do or not to do in a school.
This is the NDC trying to cause us, Ghanaians to hate each other on religious grounds. The issue is simple. Almost the best schools are christian owned and they are run according to rules. If you can't follow it, don't go there. The government schools are available. The constitution also grants individual owners of property the [r]ight to determine how its used.

If you do not like the rules of an organisation, you must not join it. Imagine the confusion if all the non-Catholic students at say St Augustine's decided that they will not attend mass. This will mean that the school will have to provide religious accommodation every day for fifteen to twenty different religions.
When you apply to attend a specific school, you know exactly what the terms and conditions are for admission, so if you don't like them, don't go there. There are more religion-free government schools than religious schools. Attend one of them, and leave the religious schools in peace.

Ghanaians are foolish because they can't tell if they are suffering or not, somebody from outside will have to speak for them.
So Ghanaians, you don't have any problem. Your pipes are flowing with water constantly, power supply is constant, you live in a corrupt free country, your currency, the cedi is doing wonderful, fuel price is very affordable, your hospitals are fantastic; even Atta Mills patronized them till he died, your cities are squeaky clean; garbage on the streets is a thing of the past, misappropriation of state funds is just fine, don't complain. I mean, you are just doing fine, if you complain again, we will scorn you, especially, if you are someone with a disability. Just shut-up and listen to outsiders, because they pay for the food you eat, the petrol you buy and bear your pain when you are sick and you are asked to go home because hospitals don't have beds to admit you. America started this hegemony crusade by demanding that all countries adopt western style democracy. This has made it very easy for external forces financed by the U.S. to interfere in the internal affairs of nations through the so-called colour revolutions. This is what is happening in Nigeria. America is behind Boko Haram. When a country loses its internal cohesion, and infighting starts, it is then easier for neo-colonialists to come and steal its natural resources without fear of revenge because the country will be too weak to do anything. This is what is happening in Libya.

I think you know the meaning of BOKO HARAM? Western education is evil - so why education at all? You have zero tolerance on other religion but you expect others to accommodate your hard-line Quran verses without any overtures? This is where we part company even though my tolerance level is very high. Look, I have high tolerance level but not for religious fanatics be it Christians, Jews, Muslim Jihadists who are trying to hijack religion for their own latent agenda. You cannot reap where they have not sown. As it stands now; one can see where all this is heading right? Like they say; Give them an inch they take a yard, give them a yard they take a mile. What will all this come to and where will it all end?

Raj, St John’s, St Mary’s, St Augustine or St Louis etc these are clearly Christian mission schools or institutions and the government sponsorship does not take away the core or fundamental principles and ethos on which such institutions or schools were built. You are not going to change that, it is uphill battle and it is also the constitutional rights of these schools and institution to maintain their original integrity.

We cannot turn our schools and institutions into religious battle field or cherry pick as it pleases us. Just as in real life, we sometimes have to swallow a bitter pill or bit the bullet even if it is not with us.

There is no reason for any student to skip or cut morning assembly on religious grounds. Where does it begin and where does it end? The school is not a place to play hooky due to ones beliefs and there should be no exception to the rule.

Who can go to these Muslim country to demand his christian rights. Christian schools should stand firm on their principles. They should not give in to theseno-good Islamic religion that will eventually turn against everybody.

Muslims are trouble makers. A Muslim who has denounced Islam has been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia. Black African Muslims mind are seared. They don't know what they are fighting for.

The issue of boko haram in Nigeria, started just like this, and has now degenerated into social nuisance. There is the need for freedom, human rights, as enshrine in our constitution,we agree. However, in our pre tertiary institutions, school authorities are tasked to, holistically train our young ones. There is no way these authorities can satisfy each and every students in their institutions, hence the need to have some CONVERGENCE. We are, on the top of our voices shouting Human rights! Human rights!Is it not our rights to go to bed at will? Are we allowed to do that in our boarding institution? Is it not our right to dress the we want, (material,colour, size, etc.)? Are we allowed to do that in our schools? Is it not our right to choose our own venue for taking our meals? Are we allowed to do that in our schools? If its about the constitutional right, then let us allow student to go to bed at will, sew their uniforms the way they like, go for dinning if they like. This issue worship goes beyond Christian Muslim religions. The court may open a flood gate onto school authorities, if this issue is not handled with care. Because, other Christian religious denominations in our schools will also rise up for the same rights, claiming the schools' ways of worship do not conform with tat of their church. Traditionalists will also rise up.I can go on and on and on. It will be too chaotic. My suggestion is that, do what Romans do, when you are in Rome.

So if one is not comfortable with Christian schools just don't enroll in that school. Just enroll in where you like. But don’t force established institutions to stop practice something that has worked for the society for several years. We should not entertain such things that grow into terrorist acts. In Ghana everybody is free to attend religious practice as he or she believes. Please don't let us descend that slippery road it will not help the country.

We have a sad history in the United States of America where Mrs. O'Hare took the U.S. Government to the U.S. Supreme court and won to remove prayer from the schools and now what we have in the schools in the U.S. is school kids going to schools with guns and shooting other kids. When Christians pray in the Name of Jesus anywhere we drive away the evil one. The moment prayers were taken out of schools the evil one took over the schools and we have carnage in the U.S. schools. In the U.S. we solid evidence that there has never been any gun killings in any Christian schools. All because with Christian discipline and with daily prayer in the schools there is discipline in the hearts of the students and the evil one also is banished by prayer from bringing gun violence in their schools. So my country men think twice and do allow the constitution to trump over the bible or the Koran. Let us use the wisdom of Elijah by allowing any religious organization who wants to do anything go ahead and do what they want to do and in the end you will see that the Christian God will win as in the case with Prophet Elijah and the Ball worshipers contest.

I have worked in a Muslim owned business and everyone was forced to go to the mosque on Friday. it was a clinic yet work will stop for everyone to pray irrespective of the state of emergency . with time our clients got to know and they will not come there during prayer times . this Sheikh Amin Bonsu is just a hypocrite . he forced all workers of his clinic to be a Muslim or be sacked by dubious means. what is he trying to say here. I have records of many of them in tamale . in Tamasco it isn't a Muslim school though but predominantly Muslims it is very surprising the way the treat christians . no evangelism on campus yet there is a major mosque which serves surrounding communities . christians live in fear in tamasco . this is a fact

What is happening in Ghana now is very dangerous. NDC and their tribal tactics now turn to religious tactics is becoming very dangerous. Our Moslems friends have study in mission schools ever since and have complied to all mission schools regulations, why do they now raise alarm? Do they convert after leaving school? Were they forced to attend mission schools. Some even intentionally chose mission schools because of their moral decipline as well as their academia. Do they think decipline is food served there? No its the kind of training including their religious values. Till now I've always have respect for our Moslems brothers to be most moderate but I'm beginning to believe, they are peaceful because they are minority in our society.
What Moslems would end up achieving is the very discrimination they claim they are fighting for. What about no mission school ever admit any Moslem in the first place? The mission schools have been thinking of opting out of government institutions. Now when they become private what wld the government do. If only our president could think before talking, we wld not have come this far.

Thus anybody who finds it difficult to agree with the aspirations of any particular institution has the option to refrain from attending such institutions.
True Muslims should refrain from attending true Catholic institutions. But anybody who enrolls in a Catholic school should know that the Catholics have morning assemblies every day, and these may include mass!

If one chooses to go there on Fridays, you can't claim your right there and force them to attend to you, the same applies in missionary schools, you can't force them to change their regulations to favor you....in St. Louis SHS, b4 gaining admission into de sch, we r made to read the regulations of the school and assess if we can abide by those regulations, then you go ahead and sign a bond to obey the rules of the school. •Unity of the church is key in winning this battle. The last but not the least christians should be actively involve in politics. Enough of these muslims political office holder with islamic agenda.
