  The common denominators of both the G-CAP and ASHI is increase in the cost of doing business in Ghana, since both come with a cost. The benefits the two institutions seeking to bring these two programs on board are nonfactual. With the Destination Inspection in place one may ask why these two. What we should not forget is that the Destination Inspections have employed a lot of Ghanaians and continue to employ a lot more. Both the G-CAP and ASHI have no local contents and by this what I want to say is that they are going to create jobs for foreigners while Ghanaians lose their jobs should the DICs be closed down. There is no guarantee that these two project can stop fake products and reduce demurrage/rent charges, the fact that few countries are practicing in Africa does not mean Ghana is to copy. Both programs must be scraped totally.

  The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has denied a recent assertion by Ghana's former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia that it has blacklisted the West African country for non-payment of debts.The Bank clarified that it erroneously put Ghana on its sanctions list in February this year but hurriedly effected a correction. "On 18 February 2015, due to an administrative oversight, Ghana was erroneously included in the list of countries under sanctions by the AfDB. However, the error was detected that same day and a corrected list was immediately issued in replacement," the Bank said.
  
  
  “Dr. Bawumia has no liability of apology to anybody in this country or the African Development Bank (AfDB) neither to Government of Ghana or those who are asking for that apology, that apology won’t come…,” he said.
  
  Karbo however stated that Dr. Bawumia only spoke from an internal memo of the Bank which circulated on the 17th February, 2015.
  
  Think my friend, how could the error have been made on 18th February if Dr Bawumiah had a circulated letter on 17th February he quoted from?
  
  AFB is trying to protect Ghana and itself from being blacklisted as an untrustworthy institution. Ghana was not mistakenly put on the list due to administrative error. Ghana was on the list rightly because it had failed to meet its loan payment obligations.
  
  Do you know why the IMF bailout loan was delayed? During the IMF credit check on Ghana before it granted its loan to Ghana, it was detected that Ghana was under sanctions due to its failure to pay ADB loan. Ghana hurriedly arranged payment and colluded with the Bank to issue a statement that it was an administrative error.
  
  How can a Bank of ADB make such a gargantuan error in naming only five countries? It was not like one person made that mistake. Believe me, a whole lot of officials checked and "rechecked" the names of countries under sanctions before going public with the names.
  
  Folks, this is not the first time Ndc government has done this to an International institution in order to get a loan. Do you remember Dr Kwabena Duffour massaging figures and painting a rosy picture to the world bank about how Npp has left a healthy economy but went to Parliament and gave different numbers and worse economic scenario Npp left behind?
  
  During Rawlings administration, it did the same thing and Ghana was made to pay $20 million penalty for massaging figures. it is the AfDB that has a credibility issue here not Dr. Bawumia.

Go to their website www.afdb.org; select "News & Events" from title bar; narrow search with Date range FROM 17/02/2015 TO 19/02/2015 (Due to bad programming date range FROM 18/02/20t"15 TO 18/02/2015 yields no results).
  If AfDB claims they corrected their mistake by removing Ghana from their "suspended list, why are entries for the other African countries (Somalia etc) also missing?
