We in Ghana should use one of our local language in our schools. There are those who will argue that our local languages are useless but let me make one fact clear. Any language is very important and here is one fact.
During the second world war, the Allies under the leadership of the United States, used the NAVAHO language to transmit messages to their field commanders in Europe. Why? So that if the message fall into the hands of the enemies, they will have no clue about what it means.

LANGUAGE BONDS THE FAMILY TOGETHER. A LOT OF AFRICANS SPEAK ONLY ENGLISH TO THEIR CHILDREN RIGHT THERE IN GHANA OR ABROAD.. AND TO THOSE PARENTS I SAY SHAME ON YOU! DEPRIVING YOUR CHILDREN OF THEIR LOCAL DIALECT IS DEPRIVING THEM OF A CORE ELEMENT THAT MAKES THOSE CHILDREN GHANAIAN OR AFRICANS.
PARENTS IN GHANA OR ABROAD, DO NOT COME UP WITH EXCUSES AS TO WHY YOU COULD NOT TEACH YOUR CHILDREN THEIR MOTHER TONGUE. RATHER ASK YOURSELF WHY YOU SO WILLINGLY DEPRIVED YOUR CHILDREN OF THEIR LANGUAGE WHICH IS A CRUCIAL PART OF THEIR HERITAGE.
LUCKILY THERE ARE APPS FOR MOST OF THE GHANAIAN LANGUAGES SO IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE PARENTS WHO FAILED YOUR CHILDREN BY SPEAKING ONLY ENGLISH OR FRENCH TO THEM, BUY ONE OF THOSE GHANAIAN LANGUAGE APPS AND TEACH YOUR CHILDREN THEIR LOCAL GHANAIAN LANAGUAGE. LANGUAGE IS SO IMPORTANT SO PARENTS STOP DELEBRATELY DEPRIVING YOUR CHILDREN OF THEIR HERITAGE!

C'mon Johny English don't make a full of yourself. The writer may be able to write in his native language if he was to write it rather than using the key-board which do not have the characters of his native language.

The reality of the world is that English, French and Spanish are the languages you need to make money! Even the Chinese make sure to learn one of those three. We should stop fooling ourselves. The local languages are important socially but for business we cannot change history. English, French and Spanish are dominant. This is simple.

Most foreign contractors and C.E.O's in Ghana cant speak english and yet they are making money out of us. Let us kill that pride in us and be ready to accept truth as it is. Ghana is growing, more graduates each year but nothing better is happening, why? Graduates dont even have the fundamentals to apply all that they learnt in the university.
