My friend, if NPP were having any ideas to the power crisis they would have solved the problem during their eight year rule and the NDC would have been riding on white horses to the Independence Square by now. Now then, they are opportunistically making all these noises since they are firmly aware that the NDC is aplomb to tackling the problem they failed to confront during their era to score some political point.

Should NDC solved the problem, then they get the hurrah for pushing the NDC so far. Should NDC falter, gives them the edge or the upper hand to the corridors of The Flagstaff House with ease. Such is their tactics hence their opportunistic demonstration some three days ago.

The president has been saying that he tried to introduce electronic payment and acquisition systems into the public sector {to reduce human contact with cash} in his effort to fighting corruption, but lamented that the systems were often resisted.

This has become so monotonous that Ghanaians are beginning to wonder whether the president is actually serious and interested in fighting corruption as he claims, or it's just another crocodile's tears to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he is making an effort, while the government and its cronies amass billions of dollars at the expense of this struggling HIPC nation.
Why should Ghanaians hire a president that can't even introduce an electronic system successfully into the public sector to save us from criminals masquerading as civil servants? Mr. Mahama must be seen to be fighting corruption with all his might rather than go on lamenting helplessly like the rest of us who hired him to do the job.

We have a constitution, and it prescribes how Presidents are elected, how they are removed from office and how they are replaced. These silly calls for the president to resign should stop.

Come 2016 you will have ample ammunition to use against the president's performance and ask the good people of Ghana to vote him out of office. Sir, that is how democracy works. Nothing more, nothing less !!!!

It would interest readers to note that there has not been a single alternate measure proposed by the NPP over the power crises. If you have the ideas why not bring them forward? It is indeed true that empty barrels make the most noise. If a president resigns over "dumsor" have you any idea the constitutional crisis that will trigger? Please respect yourselves and avoid calling for resignations at the slightest opportunity. Will the president's resignation solve "dumsor" overnight? Highly unlikely. Ursula Owusu said the same thing last week and you are repeating it. Is that a cheap way of getting rid of an elected president for your grand papa to sneak in by the back door?

Ghana is about 80% depended on Akosombo dam and if water level drops, some of the turbines have to be shut down. Presently, three of the six have been shut down.

Is Mr. Isaac Osei saying that President Mahama is responsible for the water level to drop leading to shutting down of 3 turbines which has brought about the "dumsor"?

Burkina Faso now have a new type of dam which recycles the water already used. Apart from that, they have also built a huge reservoir which can store a very huge quantity of water. That is the reason the level in Ghana is going down.

Mr Osei should come up with suggestions on getting over the "dumsor". People like him are talking as if the dumsor only affects people not belonging to NDC. They MUST know that we are all being affected and no one is happy about it.

Going on demonstrations do not bring on lights; it is critical thinking and coming up with workable solutions that will solve the problem. As it is, the govt is doing its best to get rid of dumsor. The govt has ordered two barges to augment that being produced by the three dams and other gas ones. Let us give workable and intelligent suggestions.

This is the same man who was most ineffective in the UK as High Commissioner and one of my former bosses, usually a mild mannered person once described to me as "the man who loves coming to lunch"!!!

Can the "honorable" mention a single thing that he achieved as High Commissioner to the UK before president Kufour had to kick him out of there?

The current energy crisis started years ago, or though it has worsened under the resent Mahama administration.

I remember Mr, Kirk Koffi, the Director of Hydro Dept. at the VRA, disclosed that Akosombo Dam can never be shut down.
Mr. Koffi said in 2007 that under no circumstance, real or imaginary, will the dam be shut down, arising out of the current energy crisis. The NPP government at that time should have instituted energy policy to help solve the energy crisis.

I remember Mr. Koffi advertising the general public to assist in finding an end to the crisis by adhering to the energy conservation measures like switching off their lights when not in use, and also by using energy saving bulbs.

Mr. Isaac Osei should ask how many Ghanaians and institutions heeded the 2007 wise admonition of Mr. Kirk Koffi?
That would certainly have made a big difference in our energy picture in my opinion.
