First of all I have a lot of respect for dr. Botwe but what I do not understand is that after so many years in powerful positions in government, is it now that he has come to this realisation? It makes some of us wonder what he has been doing with all his time in the various privileged, financially and socially rewarding offices in the country and if the failure of ghana is due to officials who do not serve but RULE

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution

Thank you, Mr. Greenstreet, you spoke what is in the heart of Ghanaians. Everyone in this world knows NDC hates the truth and would like to hear lies because they are liers. If NDC is really truthful to themselves they will know he spoke the truth and if you ask Ghanaians, I am sure 80% of the people will agree with him. Let N D C come back to their senses and accept the truth and that wopill save this nation.

kwesi Botchwey aren't you tired? Can you not find some younger ones with fresh ideas to help build this country? After all the years at Ministry of Finance, what is your singular achievement? You amassed wealth and you have come back to grab more for your children and grand children through Ghana gas and now NDPC. There is nothing wrong with the message, there is all wrong with your credibility and seeming insatiable greed.

Very interesting. Since when has NDPC stopped being a stab in Dr. Botchwey's back? Over two decades have been wasted and he os now seeing the light?

This import of Dr. Botchwey's statement and the points raised, is a very strong indictment of the Mahama-led NDC gov't of which he is a part. Clearly, there are a few in the NDC party who would not toy with the destiny of the country, and it is refreshing to note this.
The issues that have continually been raised concerning lack of planning let alone effective planning, lack of direction, lack of focus, lack of competence and aptitude, lack of the managerial acumen to steer the affairs of the country, it's finances and the economy, lack of critical understanding of the development and growth objectives of the country under the Mahama-led NDC gov't today, is being confirmed by Dr. Botchwey and Ghanaians have been vindicated.
The Mahama-led NDC gov't has totally failed, and this profound admission of Dr. Botchwey that indeed, the Mahama-led NDC gov't has presided over the helter-skelter, all over the place, chaotic and confused development paradigm with unprecedented looting at it's core, having really affected the fortunes of the country, most especially for a country which as at the end of 2008 was on course for smooth and magnificent takeoff from lower middle to middle income economy with a stable micro-economic outlook , with incoming oil revenue to boot is profusely spot on.
The grace to accept the failures of the Mahama-led NDC gov't by Dr. Botchwey is commendable, however, it doesn't solve the nation-wrecking issues solely inflicted on the country by the Mahama-led NDC gov't. Ghana deserves the best, Ghana has the human resources to deliver excellently on our growth and development objectives, and this road to recovery, this path to pull Ghana out of the pits, out of the doldrums, starts by the massive firing of the Mahama-led NDC gov't at the ballot box in 2016.

Aligning national plans to budgets is good governance and enables better accountability. We should seriously consider adopting it.

I thought this alignment is already being done and it is at the centre of national planning. If it is not being done, one can understand why we are or could be in an economic mess. When we are borrowing to fund national development, the sectors being funded must all align to national and government-wide outcomes. It is a MUST. It is a matter of public management sense.
First of all I have a lot of respect for dr. Botwe but what I do not understand is that after so many years in powerful positions in government, is it now that he has come to this realisation? It makes some of us wonder what ...
