No one denies that the national payroll system could be used to check the problem at hand - ghost names on the national payroll. The question is whether or not Soft Tribe has the capability to perform the task at hand, i.e. put in place mechanism to check, identify and remove the ghost names. A further challenge is to build the software in such manner that it becomes inherently resistant to infiltration by "ghost names". The matter has been politicized for far too long. What is needed is for the government to come out with a solution, with or without Soft Tribe, that provides relief from the perennial problem of ghost names and attendant effects. The best team must get the job, since it is the nation's taxpayers' money being used.

The nation doubts very much that the public officials are to be believed. We all know that they this lot are fully committed to a life of public service, with no intention of unjustly enriching themselves at the public trough. Look, SoftTribe has already absolved itself from any issues and proved with documentation as to how the public sector officials were mis-using the software. The same officials at the Controller and Accountant General’s department were nailed to the wall and even tried to wriggle out of it. Instead of working with the people who have found the problems to get help, which in turn will help to secure the funds the country needs, we see a collusion of fraudsters at work. Is that a surprise? No. Even when everyone rallies to offer help, they don't listen. We learnt from Ayariga confession to parliament that they blew a cool $8 million dollars on football and his fingers are pointing to the office of the president. Today we are all sitting down calculating the daily load shedding on electricity whilst peoples massive investments on equipment, generators, fuel and all sorts are being destroyed.

Never in the history have we had a group so hell bent on robbing the nation blind at all costs. All the sacrifices and hard work that our ancestors have worked for dissipated.

God bless our homeland.

The names of workers come from various agencies and the names are keyed into the system. The ghost names are provided by the agencies. Controller pays these people because it has been told they work with the agencies. The biometric registration of workers on government payroll is a good solution to removal of ghost names from the payroll. But if the biometric registration officers are not strict by inspecting photo IDs then the wrong people can still be captured.The Soft Tribe company can not solve the ghost name problem.
