It is good to keep enterprises like STC etc afloat but, what mechanism are in place to stop the legal corruption that is sending these institutions into oblivion?

Ministers from! And you are absolutely right,until the right policies are put in place to plug the gaping holes in the mgmt of these State-owned outfits,te govt will simply be pouring money,we do not have, down the drain!

They will buy new ones so that somebody can pocket his/her 10%. That is the rational behind the acquisition is new buses etc.

STC must work hard to improve its services and so rebuild its customer base.
The emphasis should be on the services to the principal urban centres. Management should cut out waste, inefficiency and corruption.

The emphasis should be on the services to the principal urban centres. Management should cut out waste, inefficiency and corruption.
STC should also open up its specialist services like the parcel delivery service and auto-mechanic workshops to the private sector. This would bring in additional revenue.

Couldnt the Government have commissioned Neoplan Ghana to assemble state of the art Neoplan Buses for STC rather than importing Scania Buses from outside for them? I thought this government has it as a mantra "Made in Ghana"?
