Is it true that Addo was slated to be arrested as an activist of the party as Pratt want us to believe? If so, then the arbitrary rule of Nkrumah knew no bounds. It adds to the fact that at a point in time, he had become a tyrant and his own people were afraid of him. Nkrumah, from all intents and purposes had great ideas for the country. But for whatever reason became power drunk. That led to his downfall.

After all Ghana became a one party state by 1964; the constitution was changed to make the CPP the only legal party in Ghana, so what choice did anyone have? Kids who went to public schools were forced to join the young pioneers, and were punished in some schools, if they did not wear the read scarf to school. Does it mean that if you are a member of a certain party you can't disagree or condemn some of their policies. I still don't get where Pratt is going with his stories.

Nana admitting to being a former CPP does not make any difference or matters.
Pratt is insinuating that because Nana was supposedly a CPP activist, he is also responsible for PDA and subsequently JB's imprisonment and death. How childish can Pratt be? I am assuming Nana was in his 20s or less during Nkrumah's time, how could he be blamed for PDA? In any case just because you are member of a party does not mean you agree with all their policies or even worse responsible for the effects of their policies. The whole assertion is stupid but you see that is because Pratt is grabbing at straws and trying hard to implicate others. PDA was a mistake and wrong that is all it is. No white washing or implication of others like the Akuffo Addos will change our views. Read this quote again, pay attention to the last part.

Note that he has also claimed Nana's father proclaimed Jake's father, a member of the UGCC, a terrorist because he was a member of the panel that convicted him.

First, merely being a member of a panel doesn't mean you necessarily agree with the majority decision. Thankfully, we saw an example of that in the supreme court ruling on the election petition. Unless Mr Pratt produces evidence that Justice Akufo Addo actually made such a pronouncement or supported the conviction in his ruling, then the accusation is baseless, even uneducated.

Second, Pratt tried to use the above claim to justify JB's incarceration. But the two cases are not even the same. Obetsebi had his day in court. JB was not given a trial and spent his time in jail responding in writing to trumped-up charges. If Pratt's intention is to accuse JB by association with a fellow UGCC member convicted of terrorism, then his logic falls flat on his sword, not least because Justice Akufo Addo was also a member of the UGCC and should equally have been guilty by association but he is the man Pratt claims convicted Obetsebi of terrorism. Pratt is just a stupid gadfly!

The CPP is a hard sell as a political party because of Dr.Kwame Nkrumah's intolerance of opposing views.The bedrock of his very poor human rights record and affinity to annihilate his perceived enemies.Not to mention the unpardonable socialism mistake,having schooled in Pennsylvania and tasted capitalism in its finest form.
The CPP thrived on the ignorance and cowardice of majority of Ghanaians at the time.
The times have changed in Ghana.The wind of democracy has engulfed everybody but Samia and the other 'endangered species' of the CPP who appear to have buried their heads in the sand,like the proverbial ostrich,and are blatantly refusing to see that the old order has given way to a new order.Therefore,the CPP has outlived its usefulness.

Akufo-Addo needs to become the bishop that he graves to be, and then he can go about forgiving the gullible ones their sins. Nkrumah need s no wrong from a man who inherited a party with blood-soaked hands and is ever hiding them in his pocket. In fact after the coup Akuffo Addo's dad had to hide his son Nana and other friend of Nana's. From there on Nana's dad had to send Nana Akuffo Addo (for his own safety) to UK to live there. That is how come Nana ended up in Oxford University.

Again why is it that Nana Akuffo Addo introduced free-education as his campaign message? This was one of Nkrumah's policies which was/is vehemently opposed by the rightist UP/NPP. The rightist DONT and would not support free education policy but Akuffo Addo was able to add it to his policies. I congratulate him on that.

There is nothing wrong with it; Nana knows better than most of the big shots in the NPP. The rest are just scammers. That is why they continue sabotaging Nana's chances. From Kuffour to Allan Kyeremateng, from Kwabena Agyapong to Paul Afoko.

Akufo-Addo played for the national student football team, "The Ghana Academicals", and later drafted into Republicans Club (another of Kwame Nkrumah's communist inventions) with Jones Attuquayefio, Willie Evans, and others.

So what is earthshaking about 21/22 year old Nana Akufo-Addo being a member of the CPP? The idiot that you are, you were probably struggling with simple multiplication and division in middle school at the time. What would you know about who was arrested and who was not arrested then?

The NLCC was thorough and yes, there was "protective custody", but I will bet my bottom penny that nobody below the age of 25 was arrested in the heat of the coup of 1966. I am also not sure Nana Akufo-Addo will make a statement like that.

We remember how Nkrumah started it all, by turning school children against their parents and families by establishing the Young Pioneers and Africa High Command among others. He brain-washed our nation's youth by his "Nkrumah never die" "Nkrumah is the messiah" that helped him stamp his planted his name in the psyche of a new generation esp. the youth and citizens of a new democracy like Ghana. The man proclaimed about democracy and a new enterprising country and prosperity only to turn Ghana toward an autocratic rule married with communist ideals.

Soon, Ghanaian families and household were asked to declare their assets; from clothing, furniture to houses etc. The mere mention of Nkrumah's name sent waves of panic and fear into Ghanaians; you dare not accuse him for anything although the economic situation had started to decline, esp. when he started meddling in international politics and leaning Ghana towards the Eastern Political Block, ie: The Soviet Union and it's allies, while he withdrew from the Western Political Block ie: USA, UK, France, West Germany, Italy etc. That's where things started falling apart for Ghanaians. Nkrumah proclaimed the Non-Aligned Movement.

It was probably disciples of Nkrumah's Pioneer like Kwasi Pratt & Co., who benefitted from his freebies (free clothing, stationary, free chocolate, accommodation etc.) who cannot bring themselves to accept the fact that no country can develop without the three pillars of healthy democracy.

Nkrumah didn't tolerate opposing views. All political opponents were deemed enemies of Nkrumah's communist ideals. Today the Soviet Union has collapsed; all of it's allies have broken away. Yet the CPP still hang on to those bogus and out-dated ideals. It's no wonder sycophants like Kwasi Pratt will use the occasion like Dr. Danquah's anniversary to distort facts and history. It's a shame!
