I am ashamed to be reading some of the comments and I wonder why, but at least I now understand why Ghana is like what it's today.

We have access to internet, some sort of PC, laptop or iPad or smart phone and these are our comments about NMC which cannot sanction or order media house, some one will say toothless bulldog - CITI FM- NMC. Instead of we are discussing the real issue and at least agreeing on something so that the media can help the country develop responsibly and also in fairness and of course with out fear or favour.

Insult insult among ourselves and miss the issue. This second time I'm reading the comments of a story within the week and Let me honest, I'm very very disappoint with the comments.

My opinion on the story is that some one has to do something about the mandate, power and authority of the NMC if not we risk losing all the gains of the media work in Ghana . In other countries including SA, the media houses - all of them - can not purplish/broadcast any falsehood conscious or unconscious because some one will go and complain. Even when they made mistake, they will apologise immediately . What it does is that any report from the media is taken serious and it's the truth.

We can say same for Ghana, as I don't believe in about 50% of our media and they themselves don't strive to improve their reputation and the people like all the contributors on this platform are also not helping with such comments

What amounts to offensive and derogatory reporting depends on your standpoint. Ed Milliband, the leader of the Labour Party has been compared to a cartoon character and is subject to daily attacks from the Conservative supporting media. You need to have a thick skin to be in politics. Politics is a dirty game, they say , and Kennedy Agyepong who uses his radio station to "fight" for the other side in saying Mahama deserves to be lashed amounts to labeling the President a moron. It would have been a different matter if the papers had published untruths and fabrications.

I thought Akufo-Addo was the "forgiver". How then should a forgiving man be going to court instead of telling the newspapers that he has forgiven them? But then again, we're dealing with Bribehene Akufo-Addo the Forgiver.
