Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.

“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”, Greenstreet shouted when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional Captial, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”

“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”

He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”

“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”

“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”

The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”

However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

I don't know how old you are but let me tell you that it is a tradition that has been there for decades even before the 1999 that is reported here,you have to be Catholic to head a Catholic school and the same applies to Presbyterian,Anglican,SDA,Methodist,EP schools but since sometimes it is difficult to get suitable teachers for these mission schools I think sometimes we should over look the tradition in the interest of the students,it may be that they didn't have any Catholic qualify at that time to post there or no Catholic was willing to go there but like the Reverend Father said they should have communicated that to them before posting the teacher to avoid this embarrassment.

Give us a traditional vallue based teaching and you'll see a change but first, these crazy parents should put down their Asian weaves and fake hair and other bad behaviors to make the kids learn the right stuff and behave right.
If all these things are not checked and arrested, NOT EVEN THE POPE - THE BISHOP OF ROME will even make an impact on any catholic school.

You must bow your head in shame. In your opinion only Catholics could be stupid. Other people can never be stupid, but you just exposed your stupidity though not a Catholic; what about that? Next time don't speak before you think. If Catholics put up a school, it is because they are sure they can man it, and it is for a particular purpose. Someone from a different faith profession will not be able to understand the nitty gritties of the Catholic Church. Therefore the need to maintain a Catholic at the helm of affairs in the school to help achieve the purpose for which the school is put up.

I'm not a freaking catholic and not even a christian in that regards, but an unapologetic traditionalist and I think I can turn around any school system around if given the chance. Try me and you'll see no child will come out under me feeling ashamed of his or her skin color and will never ever think of bleaching it nor have any problem with self esteem.

I can telly you that a Presby terian teacher in one of the Catholic schools told Catholic pupils not to hang their rosaries around their neck in the school. What was he doing there if he did not understand what the school was about? You speak of what you don't know. Fr. speaks to burning issues. Go and learn more about the issues before you make further comments.
While I admit that no one should call other people names (mostly unfounded), I also want you to see reason with the priest who reminds the GES of a breach of agreement.
There may be situations in which the Catholic Church may ask for certain categories of people in their schools but they should not be compelled by GES with whom they have an agreement.

These religious organisations are taking too much upon themselves because they are seen as odour of sanctity. Catholics, Presbyterians,and Methodists are the few loud-mouth denominations championing this cause. Sadly, those teachers in there are not paid by the churches. They should give us the break.

If you look at the back of the cedi note you would see the picture of the Big six; so called because they were prepared to die for Ghana to achieve independence for which they were imprisoned. Of the six 3 were Akyems and a fourth was married to an Akyem who became the first lady.

Why then do you hate Akyems?

J. B. Danquah stood for president and was not successful. William Ofori-Attah stood for president and was not successful. Akufo Addo who is half Akyem has his story unfinished.

Akyems make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region. Today because of negative government developmental practices from independence some have become so proud that they can look at Akyems condescendingly.

Over the last 100 years revenue from the Akyem-Akwatia Diamond mine, alluvial gold, cocoa and palm oil from Akyem have been used to develop the whole of Ghana including providing scholarships for some Ghanaians.

The good old days when even muslims wanted their kids to go to schools like POJOSS, Augustines, OWASS, ST Roses, HOLY CHILD just to name a few. Who were heading those schools? Was it not Catholics? They needed discipline for their children only to set up lazy mushroom churches in Catholic primary schools (I mean Churches in School buidings).

With the kind of comments read here, I think the admin @Ghanaweb needs to do some censorship before posting some comments such that, those with tribalism and insults among others do not get their way in here. Please do because we can't afford letting this issues lead us into some kind of unwarranted ethnocentrism. Lets all remember, before u got into that tribe, you first became a Ghanaian.

It's shocking almost all the contribotor on the issue have ignored the bigger picture and rather insulting the Catholic Church because one of their ministers made that comment. My fellow contributorsthis issue is one of the biggest discriminatory issues in the country that I wish the country can take a bigger look at. The issue of headships in our second- cycle missionary schools and even at the basic levels I can tell you without a shred of doubt is first they would consider if you are an old student, and if you are a member of the church. For example there is no way a non- Presbyterian becoming headmaster of any of their well- established schools like Presec and others and the same time applies to all others like non catholic being the head of any of their schools like OWASS, LOUIS and others. What abt WEY GEY HEY and other schools own but Methofist headed by non- Methodist. No no. Even look at our universities which are wholly owned by the state now there is no way a non- alumnus of Legon becoming vice- chancellor of Legon. And is the same at KNUST, CAPE VARS AND UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION. Look at the private universities established by the churches all their vice chancellors are members of that church. Is a who've problem but people don't pay much attention to it. Folks it cuts across all the religious denomination so don't lambast catholic because they know what they are saying. I can say a lot abt that topic but don't want to bore you with long comment.

We are tackling it anyhow bcos it's the Catholic Church that is involved here but we shouldn't forget that through same line they have succeeded in making their schools the best in the country.

The government should post only catholics to catholic institutions; schools, hospitals etc, and leave the church to pay their salaries and allowances. Then the church can decide their own fate. But you don't expect to have it ...

One ignorant pastor said I won't be ''buried' by the church if I hold such views.... Hahahaa: thank God, I don't need a church burial in order to go to Heaven.
