johnny, I am so glad you have been able to identify the inadequacies of Andy-K when it comes to dealing with his tribal AYIGBES.
The former Supreme Court Judge, Francis KPEGAH, in his own words, garnered very many TOGBES from the Volta Region to visit the Cape Coast Chiefs, led by our Sitting Bull, Osabarima Kwesi Atta, who was INSTALLED AS A CHIEF BY THEIR MURDERER RAWLINGS.
The main purpose of the visit in 2000 general elections was to urge him to canvass the support of the Cape Coasters to vote for the NDC.
(2) This same Francis KPEGAH felt that he had been hard done by the late Atta MYTHS for NOT paying his Bench Entitlement after his retirement, given the enourmous contribution he had made to the NDC.
(3) This same Francis KPEGAH organised and led once again his TOGBES from the Volta Region to plead with the late Atta MYTHS as President to let FREE, WOYOME.
(4) This same Francis KPEGAH when Murderer Rawlings decided to leave the NDc CULTISH PARTY, organised his AYIGBE TOGBES to visit him to rescind his decision. When he was asked by a journalist why he was doing that, he retorted that " because if the opposition comes into power, most of us would suffer".
(5) It was this same Francis KPEGAH who had praised nana Akufo-Addo as one of the "best LAWYERS ever he had to deal with". Yet he found it proper to take him to court that Nana was NOT a Lawyer.
(6) It was this same Francis KPEGAH who upon retirement is still LIVING IN A GOVERNMENT BUNGALOW.
Now my beef is, if all these AYIGBE INWARD LOOKING BASTARDS AND IDIOTS think their kinds should be given a preferential treatments by the STATE and NOT the rest of the COMMUNITY, then isn't that beyond the pale of JUSTICE???
The fact of the matter is, these AYIGBES think they should be made untouchables because they have someone in the calibre of MURDERER RAWLINGS. In all these, where was ANDY-K???
FUCK THEM ALL AND THEIR TIN GODS!!!

You bloody-minded lying bigot, Justice Kpega did not such thing as you enumerated.
As for those chiefs from mainly the southern VR who went to the C/R, they were roundly condemned by us all and they had to sneak back into their homes upon return. In 2000, the consensus on both the main Ewe forums, the Eweland and CEANA lists, was that no one should campaign for the NDC and it was better they lose the elections, as everybody was fed up with the insults and nothing in the shape of devt projects in the VR to show for it. No NDC supporter on those forums dare say anything good about the NDC. As a matter of fact, it is still like that, with even the known NDC supporters rather making negative comments about the state of affairs in Ghana, when they commented at all.
It is bcos of ethnocentric jerks like you that some Ewes and non-Ewes alike had decided to respond to your ilk with equally ethnocentric insults. They said you are beyond reason and some of us only waste our time trying to explain things to you black skinheads. As they said, no one can convince neo-nazists not to be racist , as that is what define them. Busia, leader of the NLM and then the PP. of course, had defined your own brand of ethnocentric bigotry and it defines your tradition but, by jove, some of us are not going to sit down and take your puerile vomit in the face for ever. We know what to hit you back with; not only insults.

You can take this to the Bank that everything I had enumerated is exactly what this Francis KPEGAH himself had said in verbatim. Otherwise what do I stand to gain in what I wrote??
Believe me, I never heard of this IDIOT KPEGAH, until the former President Atta MYTHS for whatever reason delayed his retirement payment, which necessitated those comments from him.
I never even knew that he was a Supreme Court (retired Judge) and was very much taken aback or dismayed by his actions.
From thereon, I made a promise to myself to follow his actions and words for my personal records.
It is Leadership of his type that has given me the wake-up call to realise that some tribes in Ghana, such as the AYIGBES are being made to become UNTOUCHABLES. And that is beyond the pale of justice.
Nothing would change ME, Andy. Sorry!!!

I am not aware that he has been here for years but this is not the first time I had told him and others like him off. Btw, he might not even be an Ewe, mind you. I found out long ago things aren't as they seem on Ghanaweb/SIL. One voracious "Ewe" with no holds bar attitude towards Asantes turned out to be a Ga; a very sober "Akyem" turned out to be an Ewe!
Anyway, I haven't made a habit of telling them off though, just as I seldom respond to the likes of Insight(Idiot) to the bone, Osei Tawiah, Francis Quainoo and the host of "These Akans" whose idea of a fulfilling life is to insult and express their native prejudices against Ewes and people from the North on a daily basis. Often, when I log in to make a comment on an item and saw the depth of debauchery the Brother of Nitwits, as a friend labelled them, had degenerated, I simply desist from commenting at all.
Don't pretend you don't know those who are the ones "mentally warped". I have classified them as "These Akans" and even wrote an article on them. I think you haven't read it, otherwise you wouldn't attribute inferiority to me. Inferior against whom? Me, Andy-K, son of Alfred, son of Nathaniel Coomah, all descended from King Asimadi, father of the first Awoamefia of Anlo, Torgbui Sri 1? Ha! ba! Kwame, we are not talking of just criticism but outright sabotage to bring down whoever is ruling. Even if this destroys Ghana they will be very happy. The president has been saying that he tried to introduce electronic payment and acquisition systems into the public sector {to reduce human contact with cash} in his effort to fighting corruption, but lamented that the systems were often resisted.
This has become so monotonous that Ghanaians are beginning to wonder whether the president is actually serious and interested in fighting corruption as he claims, or it's just another crocodile's tears to deceive Ghanaians into believing that he is making an effort, while the government and its cronies amass billions of dollars at the expense of this struggling HIPC nation.
Why should Ghanaians hire a president that can't even introduce an electronic system successfully into the public sector to save us from criminals masquerading as civil servants? Mr. Mahama must be seen to be fighting corruption with all his might rather than go on lamenting helplessly like the rest of us who hired him to do the job.

We imported democracy from other nations. Does he see this practiced in those countries? We don't yet as a nation know how to put food in our own mouths and yet this man claims to know enough to say that national meddling in alien politics is harmless. Even if it was harmless, there are so many Nigerian political candidates, it would clutter the whole capital with billboards of faces of people and parties we don't know from Adam, whom we have nothing to do with and who have nothing to do with us. This is one of the puerile arguments against the billboards I have been reading.
Bcos it is not done in any other country does not preclude Ghana and Nigeria from setting the precedent and thereby starting a more nuanced cross-border politicking in furtherance of the broader objective and goal of ECOWAS, that's, the merger of our economies and policies, and that objective is to be achieved through political decisions. Ghana and Nigeria are therefore already involved in mutual political interaction and influencing. And what is politics?
If we go by the Eastonian definition, politics is the authoritative allocation of resources to members of a society; who gets what, how, when....
Now, whether Ghana gets gas and crude from Nigeria is a political decision. Whether Ghana sends troops to Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, etc. in the name of ECOWAS is a political decision. Clearly, what is happening in those countries is their internal problems but our actions in sending troops to them impact on their internal situations. If Nigerians erecting political billboards in Ghana can offer Ghanaians to engage Nigerians living in Ghana positively and influence them as to how they must behave peacefully during elections as done in Ghana and use their votes wisely and ameliorate the situation in Nigeria, in whose interest is that?
Just yesterday a contribution was made on my behalf to a Nigerian friend who is seeking to become a state Governor.
Just imagine the prospects being opened up. Anything that we Ghanaians can do to warm ourselves to into Nigeria's political decisional output must be welcome.

The issue of the Nigerian election bill boards being torn down is very right, considering the wider context of recent happenings in the sub-region, and the world.
The problem with some Ghanaian intellectuals who relish in hiding behind titles is that their thinking is myopic. This political advertising expert is thinking only in terms of what he learnt in advertising (if any). Consider the current security instability linked with socio-politics in Nigeria and the sub-region, and wake up to the reality of life. This is what intellectuals do.
I am no fan of the BNI or the Accra mayor, but on this issue they got it very right, and l say a big Kudos to them, keep up your good work, in this respect!
Lastly even in the Western countries where democracy is upheld, and advertising is a big thing, when did you see an American election bill board erected in say Britain or Germany? Why are we Africans so intellectually blind?

It is amazing how some Ghanians who lived in Nigeria in the 80s can now develop myopic amnesia when it comes to relationship between Nigeria and Ghana. For the records, Over a million Ghanians came to Nigeria in the 80s during the Oil boom as economic migrants.A lot of them worked in the construction industry because the oil boom meant that there was a building boom going on right across Nigeria. Some qualified Ghanians were employed as teachers. Some Musicians from Ghana relocated to Nigeria and made a lot of money playing in Nigerian nightclubs and shows.the vast majority of Ghanians were unskilled laborers who worked in the informal sector of the economy, doing all sorts menial jobs. Many were mobile tailors and shoe repairers who moved from place to place providing services to Nigerians. There were also those that went round buying empty bottles for recycle. There were also few of them that tried their hands in some other businesses like selling kpof kpof, Chin Chin. Many Ghanian ladies were expert hair makers, but a lot of them were cheap prostitutes that operated at bars and nightclubs mostly in Lagos. The issue of GHANA MUST GO only came about as a result of the collapse of the oil price in the international market, which plunged Nigeria into economic hardship. And as often the case in most societies, when the economy is good nobody cares about the number of immigrants in the Country, but when things become tough, the citizens look for somebody to blame. That was what brought about the decision to repatriate illegal aliens in the Country.Ghanians were not the only ones affected by that decision. many people from Chad, Benin, Niger, Togo, Cameroon and other nationals were affected by that unfortunate policy but because Ghana, been Nigeria's closest English speaking Neighbor and also being the worst economically hit at the time had far more Citizens affected by the policy than other African Countries.Let me also point out here that the vast majority of Ghanians who left Nigeria for Italy, Canada, Germany, Holland, Belgium etc, left through Nigeria and with Nigerian passport which had visa free to almost all the western Countries then.It is therefore a high level of ingratitude for any Ghanian to tell bare face lies that Ghanians were not allowed to work or trade in Ghana. As i write this note at this moment, there are thousands if not up to a million Ghanians living and doing business in Nigeria and nobody cares or bothers them. The bottom line is that an average Ghanian has this unfounded fear of Nigerian domination.Ever since Nigerians started Coming to Ghana in the late 90s, and since most Nigerians are Entrepreneur at hart, a lot Ghanians feel like they cannot compete with Nigerians even in their own Country. My message to Ghanians is this; GET USED TO IT. when you are in bed with an Elephant there will be no breathing space for you. When your closest English speaking neighbor has a population is 180,000 000 people, you must expect some spill over of some of that huge numbers. Besides, there are a lot Nigerian Citizens living in Cotonou, Benin Republic, in Lome, Togo, all over Cameroon yet you hardly ever hear of Citizens of those Countries Complaining about the Nigerians in their Country.Whether Ghanians want to admit or not the truth is that in years to come, Nigeria because of it's size will have serous influence in the economies of the Countries around her. These Countries and its Citizens simply have to learn to acomodate the big Elephant in the Neighborhood.

Go way you! Indeed, at times, I am the ONLY informed "smart person" among a lot of Ghanaians. It is something that marvels me myself, since such knowledge is publicly available and so much ignorance reigns. When I mentioned on Okyeame in the mid '90s that Jesus wasn't the only man said to be born by a virgin in history, there was not single soul in the over 600 Akyeame who knew what I was writing about. I was shocked and started doubting what I knew even before completing my 1st degree at Legon!
Take you for example, you are an epitome BLOODY-MINDED IGNORANCE. You have no clue that southern VR became part of the British sphere of influence and subsequently the Gold Coast way back in 1850. And so, some Ewes were long part of the Gold Coast before your BA and Ash/R became that entity in 1946.
I was in Nigerian too in the 80s and still maintain almost daily contact there, since that's my main direction of biz at the moment. I therefore know that what you wrote is false.
Your tribalistic, jingoist mind-set is making you see ogres where none exist.
Obasanjo's good gesture towards Ghana indeed! Is NPP Ghana? Btw, I made a tiny "good gesture" towards gubernatorial candidate yesterday. How about that?

And who are the real Ghanaians? When the great, great grandparents were sitting at the negotiation table to form the Gold Coast, where were the ancestors of those so-called real Ghanaians? Bcos we don't go about boasting about ourselves doesn't mean we are nobodies, ok? An Ewe chief was the first unofficial member appointed into the LegCo in 1916, even before Sir Ofori Atta. Advertising in print media and electronically is different from advertising with billboards. If you erect a billboard you need a permit from the city authorities for the space. Billboards like posters are also static or fixed at a particular place for some period of time, and people have no choice but to read or look at it, at least for once. Why should Ghanaians be bombarded with or subjected to the political wranglings on another country? Politic is not commerce.

UGBS, Whereas the lecturer at Legon may be thinking of marketing. It is illegal marketing. The fact that something is not mentioned as a law does not mean it is right my friend.
The issue is not like road traffic regulation that you would say because there is no sign that No U-Turn so you can do a turn and so on.
Besides in jurisprudence copied from English Law there are written and unwritten laws. So that the fact that it has not been written does not make one to engage in the vice or what is thought or sought to be detrimental to society.
Every billboard needs approval by AMA, so did the AMA err. Even if they did not under the threat of security sake judged by the experts of counterterrorism it could still be taken down.
What is not tenable is to say that there are increasing Nigerian immigrants in Ghana so they reserve that right to be informed by invoking ROPAL.
Unfortunately, all other media could be given like radio and TV or even gathering space say a community centre to meet but tge big difference is these facilities are of very short presence as opposed to billboards that look temporal but could be there for day(s), weeks and months and not minutes as TV/radio or meetings a few hours.
Considering the many Mexican or even Cuban/ Haitian immigrants in the USA all have radio stations but cannot put up political billboards in any city of the United States.

Example, Nigeria or none of Ghana`s neighboring countries can`t extent their civil war (should in case)into Ghana but their politicians could seek political refuge in Ghana. Ghana is an independent republic and need to protect it`s sovereignty and citizen without outside political interference.

It will only be negative if we Ghanaians fail to see the opportunity to leverage and do not see the probable strategic and economic gain in this. Which laws did those billboards infringe?
Of course, they didn't mount the billboards themselves but did so through the correct channels: Ghanaian advertisers which are supposed to seek the necessary permission, if any, for those billboards. We should presume they did and AMA granted them permission.
I maintain that the prospects those innovative billboards augur far much positive tidings for the sub-region than the doom and gloom and jingoist tantrums we are witnessing against them.

Its really sad for a lecturer to argue on an issue that may or may not have négative impact in Ghana. Yes, there are Nigérians residing in Ghana but l do not think, Ghana Government is oblied to educate Nigérians with respect to when élection is been held. I have never seen élection bill boards of another country in the UK, let alone a country with national security issues like Nigeria. There are Nigerians in Ghana, so is thé technology. Any Nigérian can watch TV, use phone to call Nigérian for regarding thé country, use of Internet, read news paper without compromising Ghana's security. In my opinion, AMA is absolutely, All thèse non sensé of advertising is due to some corruptness and lack of knowledge of certain people in strategic positions.

What is this idiot lecturer telling my fellow ghanaians. He should go to nigeria and teach in their numerous universities. Lagos city population alone is almost the size of of the whole Ghana. Now they are all trooping back to ghana to make us second class citizens. How can ghana accommodate such a huge population of nigeria. The sad fact is that, majority of them are criminals; either cyber or armed robbery. Nigeria's image is bad all over the world. They are moving around the world with ghana passports tarnishing our image. When they flooded ghana because of their civil war in the 60's, they never contributed anything to the economy of ghana but doing only petty trading all over ghana. That's why Busia decided the economy of ghana should be in the hands of ghanaians but not foreigners including lebanese and syrians. He didn't ask them to go but asked them to regularised their stay for tax reasons.
What happend in 1983 in nigeria. Majority of ghanaians who went to nigeria were teachers in their secondary schools or construction workers. Many were killed because they were ghanaians. Now they are trooping back to ghana when our population is over 25million. Please nigeria needs to be stopped before they take over our beloved ghana. PERIOD. That kobby mensah can go to hell and worship satan.

Ghanaian men are the only group of people that honestly hate Nigerians because Nigerians do rescued their heartbroken and molested women. Ghanaian men are not caring or loving, all they know is sex after drinking Alomo bitters. Over 85% of Ghanaian women are heartbroken and suffering and smiling in their corners. Any Ghanaian woman that come in contact with Nigerian men always happy and forget their pains and past which Ghanaian men don't like, for this reason they hate Nigerians with passion. They erected Obama posters here in Ghana during his presidential election in America. They even printed t shirts and African wear prints for him, but now that Nigerian politicians erected a sign post they now know the law. Inferiority complex and bad blood is the problem in Ghana. Northern Ghana is under curfew since NPP regime and you people lieing to the whole world that Ghana is totally peaceful, stop deciving yourself. Corruption everywhere in Ghana , 2 central medicine stores in Ghana were burnt down after fraud was discovered within the establishment. President of a reputable group in Ghana was recently arrested for simbox fraud, 23,087 Ghanaians in prison for fraud and drug related offences. 10% of Ghanaians are rich while 90% of them poor more than any African countries. Americans living abroad are allowed to vote but the parties do not erect billboards in other countries to persuade them to vote either way. There are no laws, Yes! because we have not had to encounter such obscenity and invasion of our public space. What next? Shall we allow mobile vans to travel on our roads campaigning for Nigerian Presidential candidates? And knowing how viscous African politics can be, should we permit the party supporters to congregate on our streets and square up to each other? . If Nigerians want to vote, their embassy should organize that for them or they should travel back home to vote. They know who the candidates are and already have their preferences. Because you must be registered as entity, meet certain criteria, pay the relevant dues before you can hold yourself up as political party and market yourself. Dear Dr. Lecturer,
I dont know what the law is about the erection of Billboards. But in my mind, it may not be right for anybody to get up and start putting up billboards anywhere anyhow and when it pleases the the individual or a group.
I surpose there must be a regulatory body from whom a permission should be sought before billboards are put up. (I stand to correction) if my supposition is correct, then there is need to confirm if such permission has been sought prior to the erection of those billboards. if permission was sought and granted then fine but if no permission was sought and granted prior to the erection, then, the needful needs to be done.

I am scandalised by the monumental MYOPIA being displayed by a Dr.KobbyMensah of my beloved UG
Business Schl., formerly School Of Administration, UG.
First Dr.Mensah must realise that Ghana, a sovereign country is not an extension of Nigeria, politically, commercially, or whatever. However, for the purposes of commerce, international convention allows countries to trade among themselves, including legitimate relocation to one anothers country. The commercially activities are SUBJECT to the laws of the HOST country.
Nowhere in this world is foreign country is allowed to mount its domestic political sctivity billboards in another country for the alleged benefit of its resident nationals. That is the more reason why foreign nationals cannot carry out political activities in their host countries;such persons are deported immediately.
Comparing offending sex b/boards to these these political billboards is totally misplaced. Recalling non operational ROPAL into this this argument is most untenable. If ROPAL is a viable law it would have been implemented long ago.As forMr. Mr. Anabas argument,is extremely spuious. If your nationals have greater interest in foreign businesses than in their domestic ones, does it augur well for the domestic economy and its people? What leverage is Anaba talking about, 419 strategies and schemes?39 or so Nigerians were deported recently for their criminal activities. Anaba and Dr. Mensah will soon urge BOKO HARAM to mount their billboards in Ghana to advertise their ideologies and atrocities because quote there are no laws in Ghana prohibiting these unqoute, according to a DR.KOBBY MENSAH.
In my days at the University of Ghana, the Vice Chancellor Prof. A A Kwapong urged not to become illiterate graduates"".Fortunately, we still have among us persons like Drs. V Antwi Danso, Emmanuel Anin, Okoe Vanderpuiye,; Mr. Ken Agyepong, Kwesi Pratt whose commonse approach to issues is worth more than a thousand newfangled PH. Ds. What at all is making some of these cut and paste ph. D. holders think they have the capability to speak on heavy matters of state? They must know that intellectual capability and erudition are not a function of chew and pour academic exercise. One must have native wisdom handed down fromm ones forebears and nurture same through whatever level of academic work one is capable of.Therefore "DRS""like Kobby Mensahs, the Bossmans, etc in our Universities, and others in our Parliament and in other sensitive national organizations must be extremely circumspect when they elect themselves to speak on sensitive national issues.
