At least, it could have considerably cleared the old vestiges of animosity between the Danquah-Busia-Dombo clan and the Nkrumahists which still hampers our rapid development, and denies the Nation equitable distribution of opportunities among all her Citizens.

The assertion "I insisted on the CPP and NPP coming together and I even insisted that the CPP can’t make it on its own" by Freddie Blay belies the problems of modern day CPP. Instead of the CPP of today fighting government with intelligence, logic thought processing and challenging the courts in Ghana to provide constitutional basis for the confiscation of CPP assets by J.J. Rawlings and his dimwitted men we have leaders the likes of Freddie Blay seeking to partner with political parties with no ideas, ideals and foresight. How could the men and women of our highest court in nation pretend there is freedom of association and furthermore legalize the registration of CPP as a political and yet ignore the crime and unlawful confiscation of CPP assets? How could anyone in parliament ratify the 1992 constitution that included indemnity clauses covering evils done in the name of the nation by J.J. Rawlings and his men while they declare Ghana as a fit nation deserving of democratic nation status or label?

Nkrumah ideas and wisdom cannot be matched by any in the NDC or NPP; these are parties with leaders and ranks who have never known how to develop a thought of their own, relied on outside influences even when those bought ideas can never succeed in the harsh tribal realities in Ghana and yet not see themselves as puppets on a circus stage? Can Freddie Blay say with confidence Nkrumah would counted on the people in NPP and NDC for advice on how to move forward with development in Ghana? So what would be the benefit of selling out CPP principles and ideals to other political parties other than a few CPP members getting elected into office under the tent of either the NDC or NPP?

It’s been 40+ years since Nkrumah left the Ghana scene and if Ghana has not been able to solve its electricity problems then what intellectual contribution could have come modern day political parties? Voters were dumb back in the days of the CPP but they are even dumber more so now letting tribal and political party loyalties stifle development. In a Ghana where indoor plumbing is found to be less than 40 percent in households and more likely that 80 percent of people in public cannot find public restrooms to use if needed calling the NPP and or NDC ideal candidates for partnership is not only an insult to CPP of old but explains why the CPP of today cannot win elections.

Is it not the Danquah/Busia tradition represented by the NPP which fought tooth and nail to prevent the rule of the CPP in Ghana and which used subversion and terrorism to destabilize the CPP government of Osagyefo ?Is it not the Danquah/Busia tradition represented by the NPP which allied with the American CIA to overthrow Osagyefo,confiscated the assets of the CPP and banned the party and its members from participating in any political process in Ghana? The CPP/NPP alliance of 1992 betrayed Osagyefo and the CPP and those who initiated it must bow down their heads in shame. Kwesi Pratt in my view was a member of the National Independent Party, then lead by Mr. Kwabena Darko. It is on record that members of the United Party and their followers were at home with the Breton Wood Institutions' economic prescriptions for Ghana, thus from 1983 the majority of them were quite, which they blame today on the oppressiveness of the then PNDC. It was therefore the leftist who were aggrieved with the Breton Woods Institutions prescription and voice out their discontent. It is on record that those arrested those days were mainly leftist.
Kwesi Pratt stated clearly the other day how the Movement for Freedom and Justice was formed, that it did not initially included members of the UP family. Some of us who were in the civil and public service worked underground to bring the return to multiparty form of government into fruition.
