As a pan-Africanist, I absolutely agree with Kwesi and condemn this xenophobic reaction and backward action in removing those posters. Ghana and Nigeria are irrevocably linked and it'd get tighter. Don't we have Ecowas Parliament already? I look fwd to the day candidates will campaign across W. Africa to be elected into a reformed Ecowas Parliament.

Are our soldiers not fighting and dying in support of Ecowas countries? Chad has even gone to help Cameroon against Boko Haram.

Why not campaign for closing those Nigerian banks operating in Ghana too, just as some want to close down the businesses of Nigerian retailiers? Why not stop them advertising too? Why don't stop their students from coming to study in Ghana too?

Didn't the NPP get a whooping $10 from Obasanyo for the 2000 elections? Didn't Mills get the financial support of the owner of the Energy Bank and TB Joshua's prayers (grrrhhh!) for the 2008 elections even when such financial support infringes Ghana's electoral laws? Nigerian moneybags are already influencing politics in Ghana and this is an opportunity for Ghanaians too to "retaliate". How? By engaging them and commenting on politics and the situation in their country since they decided to make Ghana part of their political space too. For instance, we can tell them to get rid of Jonathan Badluck and bring some change about, even if not a ground shaking one.

Those posters did not pose a wee bit of security threat to Ghana. They simply make politics in the sub-region more interesting and pan-Africanist, the harbinger of things to come. Can't we Africans innovate anything new? At least Nkrumah did, and some of us can add with a bit of lateral thinking.

Kwesi Pratt should not bring that Ecowas nonsense into this issue. The nations forming the Ecowas block are independent nations and their internal politics should not connect to each other. Like in US - a resident in New York cannot go and vote in California when the latter is having their gubernatorial race and neither the contestants could mount their billboards in other states. As for Francis Dadzie, he maybe forgiven for defending the contract to put up the provocative adverts as it's business as usual but must be warn that you do not put money ahead of a nation like Ghana others have sacrifice their blood to build.

Ghana certainly will never be an extension of any unscrupulous country like Nigeria.

ECOWAS the short for The ECONOMIC Community of West African States, as the name clearly shows, is only an economic community and not a political one. This means that there is no country called ECOWAS, but there are country like Ghana, Nigeria...

The ECOWAS protocol allows the freedom of movement for economic ie business proposes and not for political reasons.

In many countries where citizens of other countries live, citizens tun up at their embassies/ high commission and vote on election day , without bill boards blaring who is who.
For the advertizing companies its income coming through, it does not matter who gives it to them!
The issue is not the fear of Boko Haram in Ghana. You cannot go to your neighbour's house and start hanging your photos from your house on his /her lounge wall. Its not done.
Let common sense prevail on this matter. Ghanaian parties do not mount bill boards in Nigeria.
Let's respect each others space!!!
