Ghana epitomises much of the best of Africa, but also throws into relief the tragedy of the continent. It has maintained its higher education and has fewer extremes of wealth than elsewhere. But at independence in 1957, Ghana was richer than Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia or Singapore. Today, those countries are at least ten times as wealthy.

How can Government reduce our debt, when they keep on borrowing?I am sure next year, which is an election year,Government will spend recklessly just to win the election.Coupled with corruption,I don't see how government is going to reduce our debt in the near future,at least not with this Government, who's only aim is to undertake projects, they think can win them elections, but not priority projects.Otherwise we wouldn't have been experiencing "dumso" till now.

WHERE WERE ALL THESE NOISY ECONOMIC EXPERTS AND WHY DID THEY FAIL TO KNOW THE ECONOMIC CHALLENGES AND DIFFICULTIES GHANA WILL FACE.
IT HAS ALL COME ABOUT BECAUSE, THE ECONOMY HAS ONLY BEEN GEARED TOWARDS BUYING AND SELLING AND NOT ON SCIENTIFIC INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY IN MANUFACTURING AND PROCESSING TO PROPEL GROWTH IN THE COUNTRY.
WHEN A COUNTRY RELIES ONLY ON ITS ILLITERATE HARDWORKING COCOA FARMERS AND UNSKILLED MINE WORKERS TO EARN ITS FOREIGN HARD CURRENCY TO SERVICE NATIONAL BUDGETS,WAGES, SALARIES,IMPORTATION OF ALL ITS FOOD ITEMS AND EXPENSIVE LUXURY CARS AND JEEPS,THE OUTCOME IT IS COMPELLED TO BORROW AND TO KEEP THE NATION ON ITS FEET.
DO WE REALLY HAVE ''ECONOMISTS'' IN THE COUNTRY.
SORRY, THIS FOLK IS NOT AN ECONOMIST.

Yes, this is the situation we find ourselves in and I believe all the politicians are aware. We are tied of politicians blaming previous governments' on the economic woes of the country. All of us are aware and should not come to power and start blaming previous governments. Because, once you decide to come to power you are coming to avert the situation and not coming to blame people as class one pupils do. If you are coming into politics you are supposed to be mature and accept responsibility of solving problems. The way thing are going I have concluded that no politician can ever make Ghana better why don't we ignore them.
