Kufuor's eight years as President saw economic growth of more than 70 per cent - the first prolonged period since independence when Ghana was not getting poorer. But Ghanaians chose to exercise their democratic right to change and earlier this month narrowly elected Atta Mills.

There is too much focus on winning elections in our development quest, as we do not have a plan that will focus our effort on economic transformation. All the infrastructural prrojects are not coordinated to ensure that they become a catalyst. They are rather knee jerk reaction ostensibly for propaganda and political gains.

Frankly; what des this finance minister and his team of mediocre expects think they are trying to achieve ; it is sometimes pathetic to see this ATo Forson on television attempting to justify what he thinks is the way forward and just liks boo seth terpkor ; the guy has no expereince of any thing;if you listen to him he has not got the grasps obf interpretation of financial details ; I feel very for the this Ato Forson ; Dr Osei Akoto with a bit of financial economic decipline seem to walk all over this Ato Forson man; tyhe fact is that the NDC has not got the expertise ; it was all mouth mouth that send them into power ; but the truth is that they cannot manage the economy .

IMF will not fix our economy mess without the government fixing the ghost names in our payroll delivery system.
Why Mahama and why NDC do you take us as fools? You have oil, and when we did not we were better. We had NHIS, School Feeding, and a better GDP, and so we expect better from Mahama.
No amount of talk without working hard at our major problem will deliver us from this mess,and that is stop stealing our money.

journalists should encourage phone inns by the public to provide alternative points.
I was itching to make a contribution during the discussion sometime past on the economy when one of the deputy of Finance said that Ghana's growth rate in 2013 was higher than the sub refion average.
For people like us who have strong background in Mathematics, Averages like median, Mode and Simple Average are a lazy way of presenting statistics. It is a method used in hiding non-performance. Trend analysis is the best approach to comparing performances. Averages is putting poor and good performances together and find a middle ground for them. By doing this, one is showing a better performance for those who performed badly like Ghana.The deputy Finance Minister intentionally adopted the use of sub-regional average to show that Ghana did better comparatively. But it is defeatist to use averages than using trend analysis.
