You would think that the drug dealers and folks who aided and abetted Nayele would be quickly dealt with so the story dies but instead the two political parties are using the incident to score points. Do our politicians know the implications for Ghanaian travelers if the country is tagged as as a "drug" smuggling country? The world does not know or care about who is NPP, NDC or whatever, we all suffer for the crimes of a few. Even UK that has nothing to lose has completed the main case and moved on.

The Westbridge came about because the authorities in UK realized how weak and easy it was for drug barons to smuggle drugs to the UK,it was not initiated by the NPP government.

1.If they are using the charge sheet to defend their hopeless press statement they should know nayele went through the VIP as a result of the help she got from the airport officials but not through any NDC politician.

2.I think even dogs in the streets of Accra will not ask this question but let me tell them that there is a video footage that shows how the hand luggage got on board the aircraft and the convict herself also testified that airport employee brought the bag to her.

3.Another dumb question,every criminal or drug smuggler always believe he or she can go through Heathrow or any airport without being detected but if they can tell us otherwise that it was the same confidence that made Amoateng to believe he could smuggle the drug to the US without being detected we will appreciate it.

4.Another stupid question even a toddler will not ask this question,police can arrest people anywhere they choose to if there is the need to do so and in this case police had the information that somebody was on the airplane they suspect was carrying drugs,they don't have to wait up until she goes all the way to claim her bags when they knew the drug was in the overhead bin on the airplane,NPP,think,this is a childish question only a clueless person will ask.

5&6. Senseles questions that do not need answers from any serious person.

7.The Nayele powerful backers are NPP leaders that groomed her from 2004 as she testify in court.

Now,why NPP is not talking about their key party member who is a hotel owner in East Legon also convicted in the UK recently,is it because they knew he was taking drugs to the UK that night that they don't want to talk about it?
Why are they now talking about the Dzorwulo women when even during the time they were in power they never said it was not true?

Why they didn't make the move to begin the process of confiscating Amoateng's assets after he was convicted?

Please,NPP,give us a break and stop talking about drugs,cocaine politics will not help you to win the election,what is important to Ghanaians is what you can do better than the NDC to better their lives,something you have failed to talk about for all these years except to criticize.

Confiscation or forfeiture of alleged properties in her country of embarkation is not within the jurisdiction of the UK Courts. The monies on her on arrival may now be subject to forfeiture if its proven to be related to money laundering offences. It is not part of the proceeds of her offence because the transaction of this criminal business did not take place. The impertinent issue here is for Ghana to investigate the lousy use of secured parts of its airport especially the carting of drugs into an aircraft. BA should sue Ghana for this breach of security...it could have been an explosive device.

Hmmm, Nsem pii! Can the NDC government tell Ghanaians the "supposedly Ghanaian diplomat" who was to be picked at the Heathrow airport when Nayele was picked up inside the aircraft? Their inability to reveal the identity of the "So-called invisible diplomat" leads credence to the fact that Nayele was the reason why the diplomatic car was waiting on the tarmac to pick her. The Brits are smarter than we are. Hence, they acted fast by arresting her inside the plane rather than allowing her to desecrate their VIP lounge, and getting away with the Ghanaian government's diplomatic car.

The lady has been sent to prison and I hope her assets that was acquired through this shady deal, would be confiscated to send a clear message to the "would be" who will walk her path to opulence.

As far as i am concerned, matters of national security, protection of our borders and tackling criminality such as drug-trafficking MUST NEVER be partisan. The fact that it appears to be in Ghana only shows the level of immaturity of our politicians and how cheap our politics seems to have become.

I believe most Ghanaians are more concerned about how to fix the economy, improved livelihoods and national development as well as proper law and order which ensures that the likes of drug dealers that we have seen have no place to hide (home or abroad) and cannot use our land for their criminal acts.

My advice to these two political parties is to focus on the real issues and stop this childish bickering which gets us nowhere.

Enough of AKOMEA, the whole response is mere tautology. Every person has heard all the various versions of the case and have and can make up their mind. This lady has been rightfully jailed in fact have been rightfully put in where she belongs and precisely so, very smoothly and swiftly as the UK law demands.
The most important issue hence, is the test of the Ghana legal/judicial system headed by an NPP appointed chief justice Georgina WOOD. What happens to Dawuda who gave access to Nayele. How did this guy get to work there? Who does he work for? What is his duty at the Airport, etc.? And definitely whether he too will be tried swiftly and panished accordingly.
As to the status of past drug persons and Nayele it will be better the NPP does not contest it. And by this reasoning Akomea should have been mute rather than the contradictions of the statement he just put up.
It would have been better if Asiedu "the mosquito" did not give any interview at all to necessitate Akomea confusing himself the more.
Nayele has herself yo blame especially if she stated she has been protected by the powers that be since 2004.
The last time I checked, or if my memories set me right it was the first term of the NPP's Kufuor government.
This clearly shows that for the past 10 years she ha built her network of corrupt officers at airports like Dawuda, etc.
The lady has massive properties in Ghana by her so called drug "trade" which she is proud of and quickly accepted the guilt so as not to lose all assets gained through "the trade" in both home and abroad.
It is better to leave the two parties out of the nonsense

1. How was Eric Amoateng, while serving as an NPP Member of Parliament, able to traffick so much drugs from Ghana to the USA?

2. How did Eric Amoateng manage to traffick such large quantities of drugs drugs, undetected until his arrest in the USA?

3. Why was Akomea silent on the Eric Amoateng drug arrest, though Akomea was at the time serving alongside Amoateng in Parliament?

4. Why did the NPP and the Kufuor administartion not show any interest in investigating the Eric Amoateng drug trafficking arrest to determine who in Ghana were behind his illegal activites that he carried out while serving as a Member of Parliament?

5. Being a lawyer himself, does Akomea not know that its the discretion of the UK authorities to arrest a suspect either on the plane or out of it? Why then does Akomea not address his question regarding the same to the UK authorities who effected the arrest?

6. Why does Akomea not disclose names of powerful people for the government to investigate? Or is Akomea simply speaking the same language of lies as Ruby Adu Gyamfi just to get his way with his political opponents? Does Akomea expect the Ghana government to go on a wild goose chase merely on the statement of a convicted drug trafficker who did not divulge names but was merely making unsubstantiated statements to win the court's sympathy at his sentencing?

7. Can Akomea explain what he meant when he stated right after Ruby Adu Gyamfi's arrest that the NDC had fallen on its own sword?
