Do you remember when Akuffo Addo and others at KNUST pledged to respect the results of the 2012 elections but when he felt he was cheated he went to court disregarding that pledge,do you think if any of the candidates is not satisfied with the results or feel cheated he will respect that so called accord,will not use any means including violence to invalidate that results,is Kofi Annan the god of these candidates for his personal views to be binding on them?
Think well and support a good cause for Africa but not any bogus initiative that will rather bring chaos.

Why is it that in most black African countries people become apprehensive during election time. Why can't we solve this problem once and for all? It impossible to make elections transparent, free and fair such that the losing party out of his its own will accept the outcome. Why does Ghana need peace Council during election time? If Israel, South Korea, India, and others can do it then Africans can also achieve a free and fair elections. Can free and fair elections be routine in black African countries? South Africa is the only exception. Are we sub humans? Why is it that elections generate accusation and counter accusation of fraud? What Mr. Annan is saying is that regardless of how the elections are conducted the result should be accepted in the name of peace. To me this notion is absolutely bullshit! This notion may plunge a black African country into a bloody civil war. If it is conspicuously clear that an elections would not be free and fair, monitors should be able to voice their concerns. In black Africa the opposition is almost always cowed into submission to accept the outcome of tainted elections. The opposition is forced to accept fraudulent election because of warning that if the outcome is not accepted the whole country will be in flames. Nigeria should not be on edge because of elections. Ghana should not be edge whenever elections are around the corner.

I HAVE LIVED IN THE USA FOR THIRTY AND IF YOU DONT WATCH TV YOU WILL NEVER KNOW IT WHEN THEY ARE HAVING ELECTIONS. EVEN PRESIDENTIAL, LESS THAN 60percent vote.

Such agreement is good but not necessary if election processes and procedures is designed to be transparent,free and fair without questions.Mostly the incumbent, especially,is bent to rig the elections to continue to stay in power, sometimes with the help of the Electoral commissioner to sing the master's voices.Therefore,one of the
major loopholes so far as elections is concerned ,is the clear stupidity in the Constitution for the sitting President to appoint the EC.
The Common Sense approach,and the way forward,is to change that as a first step towards transparency.My suggestion is to have a number of persons from each of the Political Party or Regions as Delegates to Form something like Electoral College to vote on prospective applicants scaled down to not more than 6 people for the position of EC.One of the qualifications to the position of EC is that the applicant should not be affiliated to a political party or a card bearing member of any political party.Had proven Integrity,A proof of how he acquired his/her assets,if any etc etc etc
