Why should he be granted a service passport? All he needs is to apply for a visa at the Equitorial Guinea's embassy. Does he not have a passport from his country? Ghanaians takes documentations so lightly, these are important documents for crying out loud. We have all kinds of people using Ghanaian documents, and majority of them are not Ghanaians. We need to put value on our legal documents.

The main reason they are applying for a service passport for him is because he cannot enter certain countries with Israeli passport. Forget about FIFA, they have no control over entry visas. Grant cannot enter any Islamic affiliated country with Israeli passport. This is the main reason why he decided to take the Black stars to Spain instead of Qatar or Dubai as was originally planned by the GFA.

Please refresh my memory, which other foreign coach has Ghana ever issued a service passport? GFA should have done its home work by foreseeing all these difficulties before granting him the job. DOn't know where you live, but for sure in some states, you wouldn't be given a job if you have no means of transporting yourself to the job site. So, GFA shold have thought of all these in advance. Tell me how easy it would be to come by an American or European service passport. Let's give value to ourselves for a change.

" With that the GFA wants to safeguard their new coach by applying for a service passport which will help him to work in the country as well"
What!
Why are there these many 'legal elements of complications' in the GFA when they have its chairman, OOPS! my bad, its president as a lawyer?
I may have been not too conversant in the Queens flowery Language. May not have been quite articulate when dabbling in it either. But I know for sure, certain distinctive words or group of words are primarily/exclusively
reserved or used by a more profound professions. Try as you may deliberately and fashionably educate yourself, or use the English as the only medium of instructions, you are more likely to fumble or misappropriate its use. Why because, the Queen is not your grandmother. Whilst she lives in the Buckingham Palace,(Aburokyire precisely) you live in the Jungle.(Abibirem is what I meant to say)
The scientist would get you confused with words like science, interlocutory biology, physics/chemistry/maths. The lawyers would shut you down with the usual "I put it to you" not forgetting the scheming of such words like coefficient and honorariums. What have you and the likes.
But then remember no two words are the same. They may look alike but they differ in the way they appear in their respective contexts.
Therefore, in normal consular administrative settings, there exist no such thing as 'service passport' issued out to non-citizens of the countries they wish to work.
For one to work in a country other than his own, like the case at hand now involving Ghana's newly appointed coach,Grant perse, both parties must assure each other the benefits of working for each other. And that is where Grant would find it more easier in obtaining a visa or work permit when he physically present himself at the designated embassy he wish to work.
In Grant's case, he gets no special passport issued from Ghana's embassy here or abroad because he is not a Ghanaian nor a naturalized one. He must therefore used his regular Israeli passport and obtain the required work permit from any Ghana embassy otherwise he would be declare a persona non-Grata.(nonmigratory.)

Ghana passport of any category is for Ghanaians; it’s as simple as that. How on earth could we give our passport to foreigners? Where else on earth would this happen? Do we have to descend to this level of national disrespect for the sake of football?! The dimwits mentioning Aseidu Nketia and the cocaine lady Ametefe, hello these are Ghanaians!! Ghana passport or not, certain countries may still deny Grant entry. The whole world knows that Grant is Israeli and holds an Israeli passport. Admitting someone into your country is has to do more with the person’s actual nationality (which a passport is supposed to represent) than merely holding some document for the sake of convenience or to outwit. GFA should have factored Grant's travel constraints in their decision to hire him; ability to travel freely with the national team should be part of the qualifications. They should find another way to deal with this mess they have created than cheapen our nationhood.
