Yea it all politricks, they all earn their fake pHd's just to manipulate their poor masses but lack problem solving brains to help. The electricity situation now in Ghana is techinical and financial mismanagement and how to fix that doesn't need too much talking but to ask for Concreat technical strategies from people with in and out knowledge in that complex sector.Secondly he have to make those distribution companies to be accountable and use sound financial management systems. There are alot of companies and individuals in the country that doesn't pay electricity so tell me how are we going to raise Money to build more Power plants if cronies of any government in Power don't pay for electricity they consume?.Cronisym must stop and there are alotof gargets to track and ditect wrong users of electricity without paying for it.

We all want to see action, but for once we have a minister who appears to be using his brain. He understands that the short term fixes are not going to solve the problem and is looking at a medium term plan that will give us reserve capacity for energy generation. He is also humble enough to admit he doesn't have all the ideas and, rather than adopting Mahama's stupid "yentie obiara" attitude, have invited colleague energy experts to come on board with ideas to develop such a medium term plan. For me that's commendable. Equally commendable is the fact that he understands the importance of his ministry to overall national economic and social development. What I want to see is moving from vision to action. That's what we should encourage the minister to do.
As for the claim that his plan is worthless because he is thinking beyond the NDC's term of office, it is a patently stupid comment. In fact, that's the problem in this country, the inability to look beyond the next elections.

We like talking but do Little. We all understand the huge importance of Power generation in any economy so trying to school us doesn't make sense and its just dumb just like you. 90% of the problem is the distributors of electricity,ECG and others are just not doing their job. 40% of electricity consumers are not paying their share so that we could re-invest the proceeds back to the sector to make it efficient and build new Power plants. We already know the problems so he should save our ears to explain it back to us.

I can understand your frustration. We're all frustrated by the power situation and the palpable incompetence of the Mahama government. But be careful you don't throw away the baby with the dirty bath water! This guy has just been appointed. While statements don't amount to practical solutions, understanding the issues and giving stajeholders an indication of his vision and what he wants to do about it is equally important. Notwithstanding your claim that we all know the issues, the Energy Minister of the last few years has been clueless.
Believe it or not, apart from distributional inefficiencies we have a big problem with generation capacity, and I agree with him that we need to arrive at a point in the medium term where we have reserve capacity. For this reason, he is right to look into the future while engaging stakeholders to find a solution to present energy situation. Note that demand for electricity is now going at around 12% per annum. If we focus on today's challenges alone, we'll be back where we are tomorrow. A good leader seizes today's crisis to provide solutions for tomorrow's problems.
The question is, does the new minister have his government's backing for all the statements he has been making? We should put pressure on him to show us the road map for his plan, including when the current crisis will be solved as tbe first stage of any plan. Abusing him for making known his vision or making the false claim that we all understand the issues won't bring the solutions. It's the arrogance of ignorance!

We should stay away from nuclear energy and coal. Our best options are solar, natural gas and wind farms.
